  1. 1. Who should lead on Destiny?

Amazing show, Stargate series of shows have been my favorite.

This show has been doing amazing stuff which is why I have to comment on episode 12. I grew up listening to Brand New, and more less known bands. The way they used it with the filmography or whatever you call it, was brilliant. Simply using that kind of music was amazing! Made me love the show more then I already did. Didn't know that was possible.

I so hope this show gets more then 4 seasons.

I hope so to, atlantis failed cause they made some very radical changes that ended up backfiring, it was my favorite of the stargates before season 4

Gah, sometimes I feel that they are rushing things on this show >< Lets fit a month timeline into an episode, and leave lots of unanswered questions!

Is Rush ok? Awfully lot of pain there.

What's going to come of the obelisk signal?

WHY THE #@%& DID HE WASTE A SHUTTLE LIKE THAT >_<*

Yea I was a little bummed out they rushed a month's time so quickly. On the same note, Rush in pain would make sense had it just happened. But a month later, not good. Wonder if that was intentional or overlooked. As for the shuttle/obelisk? There's your answer :) I suspect leaving the shuttle behind will be the answer as to how we meet them "again" They could take something Young determined unrepairable and fix it.

I hope so it's a shame they just left them, I think we may encounter those aliens who built the obelisk and they will have the humans with them

What humans :s I was under the impression everyone returned, not just the military personnel.

Hells yes :D Dr. Jackson! and Rush in the chair even more epic.

I wondered that as well, now they "lost" a shuttle I would think maybe a ship of some kind or a gun turret which would be bad ass :D

Yea that thing was sweet, looking forward to it in action. Definitely looks like some form of robot/weapon. So I'm sure it packs some firepower. Hopefully theres more. Just that scene of them wandering around made me wish Atlantis did the same. Destiny like Atlantis is huge, so many unexplored sections.

SG1 is a classic and many episodes are unmatched, but I did seem to enjoy Atlantis more. 1 and 2 were fantastic, 3 still good but after 4 and 5 its no surprise they canned it.

Started out ok, i was excited about the possibilities on the planet but yet again it turned into another soap opera episode.

I kind of hope they get to the thing in the crate next episode.

As for Rush being in pain a month later: It might be an oversight, or it might be because Rush didn't get proper rest and ended up doing more damage to himself.

I liked last episode, it opened up more possibilities for future episodes and it was a good story line advancement in my opinion.

Yay...now they have a new mission other than waiting around on that hunk of metal that spends 90% of it's time in FTL. This opens the door for more possibilities because they can follow the ol' Destiny crew and now there are the folks that got left behind on the planet. I hope they go somewhere with this and don't resolve it too quickly like the Rush situation. From the promo

it looks like the ones that got left behind go exploring other planets.

I could help but think of that meme after watching this episode. Yo dawg, I heard you were lost in space so we went and got you lost in space while you were lost in space. :p

The situation is dire for Lt. Scott, Eli, Chloe and Greer. While trapped beneath the ruins in an underground maze, Destiny jumped back into FTL leaving them behind. They must first find a way out of the ruins before they can figure out how to survive without the Destiny.

Meanwhile, unable to turn the massive ship around, Dr. Rush and Colonel Young work to devise a plan to get the lost crew members back. But the situation grows even more desperate when Rush learns that Destiny will soon be leaving the present galaxy, stranding the away team forever.

I liked this episode. Rush is a well done character. I'm also glad they didn't resolve everything in just 1 hr and have the magic solution as soon as he came out of the chair. I thought it was completely stupid of them to go down into the tunnels in the first place, it was like wow -_- really wtf are you thinking. Regardless of what may be down there, why would you even risk that. Chloe and Eli alone get people into too much trouble, pair both of them together and you might as well put a bullet in your head because you're going to die.

I hope in the future they do a episode with one of the gate seeding ships. One would have to assume they are still active and possibly continuing to feed some information to Destiny.

I liked this episode because it started to flesh out Rush as a character, I can see why Carlisle took this now (I did wonder).

I don't see rush becoming a softer man by any stretch of the imagination, but what he was and where he is going is still important. His health on the other hand I can see becoming a major plot point over time;

- Being beaten unconscious by Young

- Alien probing? (you know it happened, they probed!)

- Amateur Heart surgery

- Jamming his head into a blender (the chair)

He'll be at risk of something related to these sooner or later...

As for those left behind; I can see it being easily resolved once they get out of the caves and after the next drop out of ftl, Eli's console will beep and they'll dial destiny. Given the time between dials I imagine they might have a few days even a week + before they run in to time issues.

It was nice to see them develop Rush's background more. Took me awhile to realize he was aware that he was reliving his memories. Pretty cool. As for the tunnel, yea that was obviously a bad idea, but had they not done it, where would the next episode be! I'm sure they'll all be back on Destiny in the next but it would be neat for them to be completely left behind, have the story split into 2, and have them reunite near the finale. Problem is

Rush says Destiny is leaving the current galaxy in the next ep. Which would make gating rather hard.

Favorite quote, "It was a sizeable spider, sir."

Sorry didnt realise you were a mod, i will stop posting now because im not a sheep that agrees with everyone else. This thread isnt just for people who want to praise the show.

Rush says Destiny is leaving the current galaxy in the next ep. Which would make gating rather hard.

i can't see that happening though, they would cut a huge choice of story lines, i suspect rush will find a code via the chair to unlock some basic ability to stear the ship.

^ Yea its unlikely they'd go that route but it would bring more "Stargate" into the mix as we haven't seen much in terms of gate travel. I worry what taking control of the ship might do. Not only are they ruining the ships destiny, :shifty: by taking it of course, but they are opening themselves up for attack. Then again you can't expect them to sit idle and let the ship call all the shots forever. I think the main reason they'll all be back is because of who is stranded, four main characters.

Started off slowly but love the direction the show is taking now.

For those that continue to "hate" the show, why persist to watch and post if it is that bad? That just doesn't compute (no Neowin pun intended). People can disagree but I think we already passed that point. We can all get back to enjoying the show or talking about it.

What I think is going to happen is:

the four of them will use the gates to try and leapfrog ahead of the Destiny. This would allow them to reunite once the Destiny makes a stop on a planet with a gate.

That could happen in one episode or it could be a mutli-episode arc with a plethora of problems in between.

it's only going to be 1 episode IMO. This show has so far showed an unwillingness to do a multi-episode story arc. a side note..why the continued spoiler tags? people are talking about an episode that's already happened and doing personal speculation on what may happen in the next ones. I see no reason for spoiler tags.

The last episode was interesting. I didn't expect the ending though. Can they dial a gate without a DHD? I can't remember exactly but I think they used some data pad to dial the gate on Destiny.

    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.

    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
    • I’m not arguing whether Rockstar likes money. Obviously, they do, they’re a business. I’m saying this isn’t new. They’ve always launched console first. This is just how Rockstar operates.
