  1. 1. Who should lead on Destiny?

In terms of plot holes, I think the sabotage killed their FTL drives before they left the galaxy thus keeping them in range of the planetary gates. My understanding was that they had not yet begun the inter-galaxy trip and it was only the fear that they would end up being stuck between galaxies rather than actually being stranded in the middle. 3 months spent at sub-light speeds wouldn't accomplish much distance at all.

Graphically they where a considerable distance away from the galaxy, as I said, several times the size of the glalaxy across away in fact.

mostly because the art department is making a bit of a gaff here.

if a few % of the distance is 50 thousand light years, then that galaxy is either stupidly large or its just about making it look pretty. I wouldn't take the art on face value sorry to say. Assuming 5%, the galaxies are one million lightyears apart. Andromeda for example is 2.5 m light years away and good luck seeing that with the naked eye (like this) until we're close to hitting it.

Seeing nothing on my radar. :p

Also, are there any spare ZPM's around? They could send an Earth ship to meet up with them. :p

I wanted to let you know that the final 4 episodes of season 1 of Stargate Universe have already aired in Ukraine, and there is a 9+ minute video comprised of scenes from the season 1 finale up at Youtube

Just watched this weeks episode and 2 things:

Stargate Universe - Episode 1.17 - Pain - Promotional Photos

"Pain" Press Release

A few members of the Destiny crew begin experiencing disturbingly realistic hallucinations bringing their personal fears or desires to life. Some worry that the stress of life on board the ship has finally begun to trigger nervous breakdowns.

After isolating those affected Dr. Tamara Johansen believes the hallucinations are related to the last planet the away team visited. But just as she thinks she’s contained those at risk, she discovers the cause of the hallucinations is transferring to other members of the crew. When the hallucinations become life threatening, she and the crew must track down whatever is causing the episodes before someone dies as a result.

1.18 "Subversion"

Dr. Rush has a disturbing dream in which he is back on Earth, divulging sensitive information at a covert meeting of the Lucian Alliance. But, strangely, he does so as Colonel Telford's.

He confides this unsettling dream to Colonel Young who wonders if there may have been some residual memory overlap during the doctor's switch with Telford two days before. Suspecting that Telford may be a spy for the Alliance, Rush convinces Young to let him trade places with the Colonel again. Using the communications stones Rush returns to Earth hoping to find some way to confirm his hunch. Meanwhile, Young has a plan of his own, but will need the assistance of General Jack O'Neil and Dr. Daniel Jackson.

Funny, because Lt. James blacking out and sabotaging the ship reminds me of the beginning of BSG with

yeah!, weird this show could be the reboot to BSG :D

if some British dude appears on the show who is really cleve....oh wait :shifty:

Seeing nothing on my radar. :p

the ship doesn't use ZPM's and the main thing is they don't know where they are, so can't have a ship meet up with them. However I'm sure they'll find a way in some episode in the future to "find" a supergate and port some more people and supplies to Destiny.

Curious that the russians or ukranians are seeing the rest of the series before the US...interesting. Anyways, looking forward to next episode :)

Wonder if they will even touch on the subject of the chair or just glaze over it.

By the looks of what's happened so far (Not having control of the ship, what happened in the chair, what happened to those left on that strange alien planet that shouldn't have been there etc.) it looks like they're creating plot threads to resolve in the second series. Or later.

I'm just hoping the solutions make sense, and are well written. Hopefully we'll see at least one end in the finale though (and my money is on the chair), so I'll hold off judgement until then :) I just hope they don't go for a convenient solution, IMO creating wild plot twists then "solving" them with coincidence or ever increasingly nonsensical mysteries is just bad writing.

Like solving the stuck in the galaxy/left people behind problem with alien sabotage, all because by chance the stone fell off the table and an alien *somehow* used the opportunity... Hmm, I didn't like that :( It got up a lot of suspense, seemingly forcing the ship control arch to come to a point, only to let it down again without any action on behalf of the main protagonists :(

Well, judging by the 10 minute clip for the season 1 finale...I'm certainly confused as to how the events seen there build up to that between the end of sabotage and the finale. That is only like 2-3 episodes right? I think we are definitely in for some more suspense, which is not necessarily a bad thing :)

I've seen him in a clip of the season finale, so he does return, however I don't know more details than that. I'm assuming communication stones are gonna be used.

Edit: Anyone have speculations on where exactly the gate room is from this rendering? I'm guessing the base of the "pyramid" near the rear of the ship? Also, I'm curious

to see when/if they make it into that large "ballroom" with the broken ceiling

^ Nice shot. Destiny is one awesome looking ship. As for Telford, lets just say he snitches his way back into the show :shiftyninja:

One thing I like about Universe over the other series' is the size of the cast. SG1/Atlantis focused mostly on 4-5 people whereas Universe focus' on more than twice that.

    • Report: iPhone Air isn't dead, and a second-generation model is planned for 2027 by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Since the launch of the iPhone Air, we’ve heard conflicting rumors and speculation about the fate of Apple's ultra-thin iPhone. As it turns out, Apple is not going to ditch the Air model from its lineup, and a second generation is already planned for next year. As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, citing people familiar with the matter, the second-generation iPhone Air is planned for spring 2027 and is poised to receive notable upgrades. The upgraded model, codenamed V62, will reportedly feature an additional rear camera for ultrawide photography. The new camera system is said to be in advanced testing within Apple. Gurman also says the second-generation iPhone Air could offer better battery life, either through a larger battery or software improvements. The overall design of the device is expected to remain unchanged. A single rear camera and below-average battery life were among the biggest drawbacks of the first-generation iPhone Air despite its $999 price tag. Hopefully, the next iPhone Air will fare better. Gurman also added that the device will be powered by the A20 Pro processor. The release of the second-generation iPhone Air in spring 2027 aligns with previous reports that Apple is shaking up the iPhone release cycle. Accordingly, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company’s first foldable iPhone are expected to launch in September 2026, followed by the iPhone 18 and the new iPhone Air roughly six months later. The 20th-anniversary iPhone is also reportedly planned for fall 2027. Meanwhile, if you’re planning to buy the refreshed iPhone Air, Apple might surprise you with a new price tag. As we reported today, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that price increases are on the way due to rising memory chip costs and a severe shortage. With that in mind, analysts estimate that the base iPhone 18 Pro could cost as much as $1,399 this year. The current $999 iPhone Air may not be immune to those price hikes.
