Seinfeld for me. Funny, well written, inventive. The show everyone is still trying to top.

I liked Frasier but after a while every episode just became the same farce format.

Will and Grace is dull. Might as well have Dharma and Greg in there.

Friends. Ok but for some reason I can't stand to watch episodes now.

Seinfield was great, but my favorite '90s sitcom has to be Roseanne. The premise is just so much different than just about any other sitcom ever:

Strong female lead, the wishy-washy sister who can never land on her feet, lingering family financial issues, children that actually make mistakes; I love it. Television gold.

That was from the 80s - it doesn't count, hence why it wasn't on the list.

Oh how easily we forget the early 90's...

But this is probably more indicative of the poll creator's age than anything.

I doubt roadgeek remembers much before 1995. ;)

Wrong decade. :) That was 80s... (mostly)

I'd vote Futurama, but it's not there. I hate standard TV sitcoms.

I lol'd. You're talking about the wrong decade too my amigo. Yes, it was started in the 90's, but '99 that is. Therefore, it's been mostly a '00 thing.

And sorry for quoting something from the first page, I just HAD to.

Full House

Family Matters

Home Improvement

are the ones that come to mind.

I never liked Seinfield, I thought it was a racist show. The Jewish people were "Americanized', whereas the Latino (two guys on the street), Pakistani (store owner) and Chinese (take out guy) were your typical stereotypes. So, I never really got into the show, but I watched a couple of episodes. It just wasn't my type of comedy show.

Racist eh, so using your logic of what makes something racist, I guess the Dave Chapelle show was the equivalent of the black KKK?

I just feel that Seinfield used that to get laughs at using stereotypical minorities. Dave Chappelle, I know hes using it to get laughs and send out a message of using stereotypes.

Seinfeld (Y). Best sitcom ever produced.

It demands a certain level of intellect to appreciate Seinfeld and Fraiser rofl.gif

People who find Friends funny usually dislike Seinfeld and vice versa, it's not the same fanbase but whether you understand it or not, Seinfeld is regarded as one of greatest sitcom ever. Jerry did a great thing to end the show on a good note rather than milking it for more cash and see it go down the drain. Good things never last, he was wise to refuse the offer of a few millions $ per show.

You took it out of my mouth :)

This is one that was only ever big in britain, but I loved Goodnight Sweetheart. A real bizarre premise, a bloke that could time travel back to wartime london by walking down an alley, but it was done really well and was genuinely very funny. It was so well acted by Nicholas Lyndhurst that they even managed to replace the 2 lead actresses (keeping the same roles) half way through its 6 season run and no one seemed to mind.
