USB TV Tuner for iMac

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a TV Tuner for my new iMac and I'm wondering if anybody has any recommendations. Has anybody used any outstanding products? Are there products or companies I should stay away from?

I use an EyeTV Hybrid at the moment - Can't fault it in the slightest.

Another vote for the eyeTV Hybrid. Great product, very well designed and built. Also, the eyeTV software is probably the best out there IMO...

ooh, they have an HDHomeRun for mac, that's always been a great set to use with Vista MCE. The eyeTV solutions look great, but I've always stayed away from usb tuners because you lose the hardware decoding, but I guess hardware decoding would be hard to come by on a mac. =/

I'm curious to know what tv tuner software people use.

I also vote for the elGato stuff, I have one and I love it, I can record shows with it too. It's the most basic one, but it works well, the 250.

elgato +1 have one and its great! no problems with it and its very easy to use, also can get a patch for front row to open eyetv.

I bought a Terratec Cinergy XS Hybrid for my iMac, works on both OSX & Windows, so it was a winner for me. Cost a few dollars though!

Although the only thing i will say, is that i think some of the updates to the software should be free, some features should have been there earlier. I paid for the update from v1 to 2 and there is now a version 3 which i think is a costly upgrade.

However even on version 2, it's a solid product, never had a problem with it, it works really well.

I have a Cinergy-S USB and a Cinergy T2, both are supported via EyeTV and work great.
