changing the vista start orb icon

ive figured out how to do it but when i replace the pngs inside the visual style i get a resulting white box around the orb, ive tried a few things but im not exactly a magician with fireworks, ive included the pngs and a screenshot of the result im getting...thanks guys

Make a layer, fill it with black and set the opacity to 1%

You need the .png in 32Bit .png (Alpha-Channel)

You can make it with paint.net, Gimp or AlphaImageConverter

how exactly do you get the pic there?

is there like a walkthrough or something here that i could go by?

In paint.net:

-load the image

-Strg+ a

-Strg+ c

-Strg+ v

-save as .png in 32 bit. Thats all

Make sure you set the canvas background color to transparent. Just click on the canvas, in the Properties box click the color selector, click the red slash box. Bam, transparent. You shouldn't need to export, just save it. Once it' done, save a different image for each mouse event and you have your start button.
