Although the film adaptation of the hit video game franchise, Metal Gear Solid, is trapped in what looks like developmental hell, it seems that actress Amy Adams has been lined up to play Snake's redheaded, Desert Eagle-weilding love interest, Meryl Silverburgh, as this recent interview has revealed.

XTCGamer: Well, thanks for doing this interview, I know you?re a busy person. First question on every gamers mind is, have you ever played a video game?

Amy Adams: I have played a few video games, and I have watched my boyfriend play the first few hours of Final Fantasy 12, but honestly I can say that I don't follow games or know enough to consider myself a gamer.

XTCG: We have recently heard that you got asked to play Meryl in Metal Gear Solid. Will you do it?

AA: A lot has to happen for me to accept the role, first I have to relate and have a connection with the character. I have read half way through the script and Meryl developed into a real character that I felt for, she is someone who wants to be strong and will work for it no matter how hard it is. I mean the main character Snake at one point doubts her skills as a solider but she still wants to prove that she can handle herself in the battlefield. She never gives up. That?s the kind of role that I want, so if they call me in and ask me I will definitely say yes.

XTCG: Speaking of Snake, Can you tell us who they have asked to portray the series hero?

AA: From what I can tell you, they are still in early development for the movie. Some actors I know they have asked are Viggo Mortensen and Christian Bale, but that as far as I know and I can tell you, there really keeping secret about casting.

XTCG: Speaking of they, Can you tell us who is going to be director?

AA: Well, like I said there still in early development, but Kurt Wimmer is apparently asked to direct the movie, but nothing is official I mean they could change the director at any time, so nothing is definite right now.

XTCG: Last Question, if you do except the role of Meryl, Will you play the game to get a feel for the character?

AA: I?ll try I mean I am no good at games, but to get a better feel for my character and understand who she is, that?s where the script comes in. If the director wants me to then I will, but to play the game on my own I don?t think I will.

XTCG: Thanks Amy for the wonderful interview

AA: It?s been a pleasure.

She was also the main gal in Enchanted, which she was very cute in.

While I approach any Game-Film adaptation and its cast with fear for ruining the history of a great game, I think she could make quite a nice Meryl, and did I mention she's cute? :p

Who would people like to see as Snake? Christian Bale? he's in everything lately? or RDJ? tongue.gif

I dunno if I can see it working, we know he can puff off the harsh sounding voice that snake has, and I'm sure he could pull off the rough look too.

Yeah Bale could use the voice from Dark Knight

Amy Adams would look great as Meryl, as for me as well she looks cute :p . I didn't even know she was in Night At The Museum 2 until Rappy told me, she looked so different  .

Christian Bale could definitely pull it off with the Batman voice :p .

Scirwode

That could work somewhat, Kiefer Sutherland can play the young snake and his dad, Donald can play him when he is old, lol.

I don't know, he's already saving the President one too many times :p !

They should let David Hayter do it, okay he may not be a perfect match but with some makeup and a hairstyler it could be close - Then the voice would also be spot on.

( Talking young snake here ... )

They should let Hayter do Snake's voice no matter what actor will be playing him. I wouldn't be able to stand it if it's some non-Snake voice...
Oh I agree, Solid Snakes voice without David Hayter's voice is pointless. But dubbing his voice over another actors voice would just look and feel stupid
The Germans have been doing it for years. I take if we kidnap a couple of those they can teach us.

Lol- nah, Hayter would be awesome, but he'd need to get more buff + he'd have THE voice... but I don't think he will do it sadly :( so my next favorites would be Sean Bean, because of his looks... rugged and all...

    • He has planned to file a lawsuit in small claims court so it'll only be a $1000 lesson assuming he wins. That's likely a fraction of what Samsung spends on toilet paper on a daily basis.
    • Windows Server gets DNS over HTTPS (DoH) support by Usama Jawad For the past few months, Microsoft has been previewing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Windows DNS Server, touting it as a foundational upgrade for zero-trust enterprise networks. It essentially introduces encrypted, authenticated DNS for the networks rather than transmitting DNS traffic in clear. Now, the company has introduced the general availability (GA) of this feature. The GA of DoH encourages organizations to deploy the solution in production environments without implementing a new client-to-resolver architecture. DoH helps improve the overall security of the network and reduces the risk of spoofing due to its zero-trust design. This is a significant change because pretty much every interaction with the network requires interfacing with DNS. DoH offers several advantages over standard DNS traffic, such as encryption using HTTPS, preventing unauthorized inspection, man-in-the-middle attacks, and traffic analysis. Since it leverages TLS certificates so that clients can verify the identity of the DNS server, it prevents spoofing through this authentication mechanism. Additionally, it's built on the DoH standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which means that it should work with modern RFC 8484-compliant clients. Finally, it integrates into the existing network architecture seamlessly and can even run in parallel with standard DNS, so that customers can migrate to the new technology at their own pace. Microsoft says that in the past few months of preview, DoH has become more stable, and customers can confidently deploy it in production environments with proper guidance. Microsoft has emphasized that migrating to DoH is necessary for organizations that are moving toward zero-trust DNS solutions. Windows clients already support DoH, but the latest availability on Windows Server provides encrypted DNS to all endpoints. The company has also mentioned that "while this release focuses on encrypting client-to-resolver communication, support for encrypted communication between Windows DNS Server and upstream DNS resolvers is planned for a future update." You can follow Microsoft's guidance to deploy DoH here, but keep in mind that you need a Windows Server 2025 installation with the latest Patch Tuesday updates installed.
    • Lol I had one of these turn faulty in Jan, guess it wasn't just bad luck lol
    • I'm team Rossmann all the way. I have the exact same NVME, altough not in an array like him.
    • It had gone weeks ago. Although thinking about it I'm on the beta.
