But, but, Sharpe is teh awsome!

My mum use to watch it when I was younger, so I grew up watching some of the episodes, and I like Sean bean in it too, lol.

Didn't know you wanted me to come with you to buy it. :p

Maybe I should of kept that bit of info about my collection to myself, I can't see this being good for my Neowin image, lol.

Yep you are now going to be ribbed big time for your love of sean bean and his program sharpe :p

If you?ve been chewing your nails, waiting anxiously for a Metal Gear Solid movie to hit the big screen, we?ve got some bad news for you. Your nail-chewing has been in vain, according to our old chum, Frosty from Collider.

He?s reporting, as part of a series of exclusives from his interview with producer Mike De Luca, that the videogame adaptation has ground to a halt. For now. ?I don?t think it?s going to move forward because I got the sense that there may not be enough of a coordinated will at this point on the side of certain parties to see a movie get made,? said De Luca.

Those certain parties are, of course, Sony ? who hold the movie rights to the mega-selling game ? and Konami, the game?s creators. But it seems that Konami may have been the spanner in the works. ?Video game companies are very protective of their property and there are certain things a studio requires freedom-wise to market and distribute a movie effectively in a global marketplace and sometimes getting those two things to match up is really hard,? added De Luca. ?In the case of Metal Gear Solid? it was just kind of impossible to get the agendas to match up.?

As Frosty himself notes, you?d imagine that transplanting the adventures of grizzled hero, Solid Snake, to the big screen would be something of a no-brainer. But it seems that Konami is being very protective of its hero ? perhaps, given the iffy track record of videogame adaptations, they?re doing the right thing.

But nothing is set in stone, of course, and it?s hard to keep a good Solid Snake down. If Prince Of Persia and, further in the future, Warcraft do great business, the Metal Gears may start grinding again.

    • yeah it seems to be Edge only. The dialog buttons work as expected in Chrome and Firefox. The phone is using Android 16 (OneUI 8.5) and Edge version  149.0.4022.53
    • I'm not aware of this issue, but to help the other guys.  What version of Android are you using? Did you try a different browser? To see if Edge is the issue here.
    • I agree when are you going to read this (really poor BTW) article? Here is a better article so you actually know what is going on and answers questions you had in other comments --> https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/05/speed-boosting-low-latency-profile-is-one-of-the-improvements-coming-to-windows-11/ It is unclear if one will be able to disable the new profile at this point but I am not seeing any reason why one would.
