Hows the NHL09 Demo?

1006MB download! I have been anticipating this game since the shoddy version of NHL08 for PS3. Who else is excited?

I didn't even know the demo was out and yes I'm excited! I plan on buying this when it comes out. I also hope they fixed the framerate issues from the previous version.

controls are tough with the ps3 controller but easily playable once you get the hang of it

I have NHL 08 and it's actually one of the games I've had tons of fun playing online with friends. I didn't know the demo for NHL 09 was out, but I'm downloading it right now! :D

I've been playing the demo all day.. it's pretty awesome.

The framerate has definitely been improved, and they give you a small taste of "Be A Pro" mode. I was looking forward to being a goalie in BaP in the demo, but the demo is very limited.

Interesting little tutorial at the beginning, which kind of reminds me of Madden (without the skill level adjustment). It just gets you used to the controls (but if you've played NHL 09.. it's more or less the same).

The game overall looks much more polished then 09 with better animations and much more fluid gameplay.

As you can tell... I can't wait till the game comes out

Edit: Oh I wanted to add that in BaP... it seems like your CPU teammates always seem to want to pass to you rather than take the shot themselves... but maybe it's because you play as Crosby (or Zetterburg if you choose Detroit)

If they can pull off the online mode where is 5 on 5 or whatever... this will be a must buy for me....

Then I guess it isn't worth encouraging a company who can't properly make a flawless hockey game. Not that it is impossible to do, it's one of the easiest games to develop, especially because they had some establishments already with NHL 08, and their own forums to see which bugs were discovered by the users.

This game is much better than last years version. However it doesn't feel like an entirely new game. I'm pretty sure all they did was take last years game and fix up the framerate and throw in a few new animations.

Other than that I'm pretty sure I'll be picking this game up. The hitting feels much better either, you can't just hold triangle for twenty seconds and smash the player against the boards, instead you have to be more precise.

I think the game is 60fps, while replays and cut scenes are 30fps?
