Hi all,

My laptop's backup recovery button is not working anymore. By right during bootup i can get to a menu that allows me to restore my laptop to factory something like reformat by pressing the button on my laptop. now it does not work anymore.

Laptop is lenovo Y400 and the button i'm talking about is the "novo" button.

I think i somehow messed up the hidden partition used for restoring my windows while trying partitions softwares.

So does anyone know anyway i get can access my laptop's hidden recovery partition to copy all the contents inside and maybe burn to a bootable disc so i'm able to restore my laptop back to factory settings(reformat) again? Btw, my laptop does not come with recovery disc.

Thanks in advance.

In the bios, you mean? that only resets bios options, not window options.

I would rather get a XP/Vista disc and re-install fresh.

There's usually alot of crapware installed by the manufacturer.

no not bios.. its a menu which allows me to restore my com. The laptop already come with xp, i don't wanna waste that and buy a new one. So is there a way for me to restore/reformat my com using the xp inside my laptop(hidden partition i think)?
