I use IE, the reasons:

1) Roboform integrates with it (been using this for years), opera's password manager has never impressed me.

2) I haven't found a program yet that will automatically move my favorites into other browsers each time I open them.

3) IE (for me) seems to render html & images much faster than Opera or Mozilla.

I've edited most of the dll's related to IE, so mine does look nice as well ;)

I hate defending IE, but here it goes.

IE is prone to more spyware, invisible installs,

Turn off ActiveX, no matter what M$ says it's not your friend. :D

no download management.

Many  free ware download managers for I.E.  Does not need to be built in, because so many available.

It may be of decent speed - however, Opera can render pages quicker than IE.

Can't say your wrong.

Opera gives you more control over your browser than IE.

I.E. has tons of setting people fail to use, because the control panel is so idiot proof that it's confusing.:D

regardless of how fast hte code is rendered, the quote from cnet says what matters, ie will display your page faster than the other browsers which means htat hte rendering speed doesn't help since your still waiting longer than ie.

ie is the only browser that supports the latest and newest html tags, along with css, it deosn't display pages wrong when you format a stylesheet how you want to, it doesn't ignore the code that every mozilla based browser does.

until i can code a site to display in ie, than open up another browser and see no changes in display i wont change, pheonix has done nothing but made the design process longer since it can't do what ie can and i have to find other ways of coding hte same effect in html.

example, open my website in ie: http://rracing.cjb.net/revo/index.php now open it in mozilla, and see how much it gets messed up.

Looks good in Phoenix too..:D

Yeah, of course if you want the best speed on XP you get IE6. Its fully integrated in the OS.

If you don't like this switch to Linux and get Phoenix.

Oh wait, you guys are in a Windows oriented forum, so you're complaining about an OS that you can't seem to ever let go of.

Bull, we have no choice, Linux is not a desktop os. It tries but is not. You should not be forced to install any software on your system you did not want and did not ask for. That goes for Linux, Windows and the Mac OS.

Mozilla is a prime example of a "standards compliance" browser. Internet Explorer is NOT, even though it may render pages better. The web is littered with proprietary HTML code from MS, which doesn't surprise me why a real standards compliant browser like Mozilla can't render pages as good. BTW, only recently has Microsoft started adhering to W3C standards. Get over it already...

    • I always thought the moon gets a lot of impact because there’s no atmosphere, so surely building a moon base is only going to end in disaster?
    • Gets them every time !
    • This piece of ###### is probably one of the most hated apps that ever existed.
    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
    • It's so stupid that you have to "enroll" in these extended updates.
