Personal WebSite

Question

So today i decided to redesign my website. Here is what i am thinking

http://danielbriant.com/thunderchild/ (hosted on my home server for now)

Going to replace my crappy http://www.danbriant.com design :)

I decided to go for something random, unique and something i can change on the mood i feel and add and remove stuff.

Now i know the code is really messed up but im not really that good with CSS, also the header image is getting redesigned as i just don't like it.

However ideas are welcome and fixes are also welcome as well.

The main design of this is a kind of notice board layout. I wanted something that i could simply change a few images and it makes it different, hence why i went for a notice board feel. As the site can be adjusted to how i feel and what im doing etc

Please Explain by what you mean more web 2.0. I mean thats like so vague lol.

Buzzword with no real design meaning, rather it (IMHO) refers to the second gneration of web services that are more user-ware and using newer technologies.

The fact that a certain style was prevailant at the time is meaningless.

I like whats going on here. But my only grip with the newer design is how far away your Nav section is from your main content. I know this sounds silly, but the distance you have to move your mouse across to get to that nav point doesnt seem intuitive for the user. It also makes it feel disconnected from the rest of the layout.

my 2cents! Keep up the good work though!

Ok i have released what i have so far - http://danbriant.com/ to my live site, as the other one is my local testing site hence the deadness of stuff

The site is based around wordpress etc, but the thing is i am stuck on how i am going to make each content area.

http://danbriant.com/site/photography.php Is something like that ok like the main header then the nav links on the left just below it.

Yes i am going to be having it so only those links show under the header when that page is active.

One thing thats bugging me is the links and font on the site, what link color would you suggest i use and same for the font

Incase your wondering the time vault is an archive of all the previous noticeboard designs :)
