Which is the Best Media [Video] Player?

Question

Hello People,

Until now I was using Media Player Classic and I am totally bored with it and looking for something better

first thing first I need a Video Player (I wouldn't mind if it could play Audio as a well in order to be used as a universal player) which is approtiate for me since I am an Anime-fan also I would like it to give the best graphics the video can show and also I can open mp4/ogm files.

I don't mind if the player is not freeware. If it is worth it I might as well buy it!

Why change when what you have is the best already? Also if the video quality isn't good, I doubt it's MPC problem. You might want to use MPC Home Cinema since MPC hasn't had any updates in long time. MPC-HC it's basically the same, just with a few extra features and some bugs fixed.

A lot of ppl use VLC, but i don't really like it, subtitles sometimes don't work properly for some reason.

Stick with MPC + ffdshow. That way you can use fast spp deblocking, which is the best post-processing that I know of. Oh and MPC/ffdshow are updated quite often, but they haven't bothered with doing official releases in a while so you just need to find the latest nightly CVS builds.

I would recomend GOM Player. Add a good codec pack (I use https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=...;f=12&id=11 Codec Pack)and you are ready to go.

I don't know why I'm starting to fall in love with VLC more and more, I was never really the kind of guy who watches movies on a PC but when I started doing so VLC was my first choice and its working out brillianty , I install it on virtually every PC that needs a DVD player and doesn't have one and I recommend it to everyone, It can play audio too but its minimalistic ofcourse geberally ... I guess that's why I like it

If you're looking for a good Audio alternative I suggest giving Songbird a look, its basically an open source media player with tabbed browsing and tons of add-ons while giving you a URL bar to gain direct access to the internet while listening to your tunes ... Its a bit buggy I think at the moment but for some reason It reminds me a lot of how Firefox started, It just seems yesterday that 2 was killing me with its slow load times and poor performance .. Take a look where FF 3 is now, Its brilliant and I think Songbird has the potential to come one, Might give it a look. Its certainly one of the more shiny Alternatives

VLC. That is all.

This is true. I actually use WiMP11 because VLC doesn't play nice with my PC for whatever reason, but in an ideal world I'd be using VLC. I love it for the fact that it skips all the stupid piracy warnings when you put a DVD in and goes straight to the menu :D

    • If you look around on Amazon, some of these are available for $9
    • I’m still using an Xbox One S, so time for an upgrade to play this but as much as I hate Sony, I think I’ll get the ps5 pro
    • I bought this game. Played it for an hour, and then got a refund from Steam. Not a fun game at all.
