hmm I don't want to be negative but it looks quite terrible?

Don't get me wrong I like pixels, had you thought of maybe trying to draw something more detailed like a something in 3'd using pixels.

Whats so rowdy about it? Whats the aim of the site then maybe we can help? :)

I have no problem admitting I suck. :D The whole point of this thread was for people to be negative and help me make it better. :)

Don't get me wrong I like pixels, had you thought of maybe trying to draw something more detailed like a something in 3'd using pixels.

I had thought of it many times; I've just been having issues with my drawing skills. I'll go back to Inkscape and see what I can come up with.

Whats so rowdy about it?

The pixel man was my rowdiness. Did he convey it well? Maybe not...but I liked him. ;)

Whats the aim of the site then maybe we can help? :)

The site is going to be a place where I can put programs I've made for myself up for other people to download.

ouch. well for starters your website name has nothing to do with programming so maybe you should look into a different name. also, in my experience with graphic design people rarely tend to lean towards pixelated stuff nowadays.

I'm not going to change the name; I don't really care if the site becomes hugely famous. Besides 'Apple', has very little to do with computing, and they did alright. ;)

Do something like the pixellated Mario Brothers.

I'd love to...but every time I try something like that it ends up even worse than what I just showed. :( I can always try again though, they say that practice makes perfect.

maybe you should create a competition here so people on Neowin can work something out for you for a sum of money?

I was planning on doing something like this if I couldn't manage to do it myself.

The first thing I noticed was that the letters are borderline blurry around the edges.

path6396kc7.png

The angle on the shot is all wrong (and so is the bounce, which should be based on the spot of impact, not the position of the D :p)

If I thought fixing that would make it good, I might go ahead and change it. As it is, I think I'll restart from scratch again. :)

May I suggest putting a beer in his other hand?!

and replacing the regular punch with him hitting the R with a keyboard!? or a Mouse while he's holding the wire?!

add some bend to the knees (make the pixel 3-D)

and tilt him so the top left corner is down more and the top right is up more (AND REMEMBER THE bent knees, mouse hitting while holding wire)

AND THE BEER!

--------------------------------

Or get rid of him and have the word "Rowdy" humping the word "Pixel" (or just have the pixel man doing the humping.... possibly while whipping with the mouse?!)

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
