The current state is "Beta" remember folks, and compare to others browser they bring a lot more improvements and features than the others. The feature is running a tab independently that's just brilliant!

IE does that to, and while nice, it's not a "must have" feature for me.

About the extensions that people say is missing...

I am under the impression (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the Google Gears will allow for extensions.

I thought Google Gears is like another name for extensions :\

I'm not sure, but Google Gears sounds like it will allow for extensions to the websites, not to the browser itself.
