Dane
Alright so within the next few weeks (hopefully next month). I'll be buying an HDTV. I was looking around tonight at Wal-mart. They have Vizio hd tv's...The one i was paying attention to was 32inch LCD, sitting beside a 32inch Samsung (that I am also interested in). The Vizio's picture looked alot better for color then the Samsung, so it had me thinking. Are vizio tv's good? Are there any problems with them? StevoJD
I've heard good things about Vizio, mostly good reviews and it's slowly becoming an established name. Word of advice though, STAY AWAY FROM POLAROID. They're the worst piece of crap EVER. Pink Floyd Veteran Posted September 5, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 5, 2008 My bet is Vizio are resaler. Probably samsung or sharp models from past years. So it must be good but with technology of 1-3 years ago Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/665120-vizio-hd-tvs/#findComment-589743270 Share on other sites
Coldgunner
Most flat panels are made in the same plants. I know Sony and Samsung share manufacturing facilities, what makes the difference is the chipset driving them. se7en.hu
I think only like 3-4 companies manufacture LCD panels so the branding makes no difference in that regard, off course different companies will offer different service though. DELTETHISACCOUNT
Vizios get the job done. You'll be satisfied. Only complaint I've heard about them is the longevity of their screens. DaDude
I asked this question quite some time ago. From what I gather, they seem to get the job done. If HDTVs don't go down to a reasonable price soon, I'll probably get a Vizio, even though I have my heart set on getting a Samsung. Argote
As some people have probably said, the main difference could be in the chipset so try inputing a non-native resolution feed. Also, play around with the video settings on both the Vizio and the Samsung. Also check the connector ports.
