How do I delete the nightly build guys?

If you used the installer: Just run the uninstaller in Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features. If it's from the ZIP, delete the folder. ;) Then remove your user folder from Local Settings\Application Data\Chromium or AppData\Local\Chromium.

Thanks a lot mate.

Now I am on Vista and update the nightly ever day with whatever is the latest build. Should I download the mini_installer or the zip file? Which one is better to update Chromium every day?

Also... Chomium does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features.

Also how do I delete all my bookmarks and make sure that the new ones I add to IE don't get added to Chromium?

I'd just take the ZIP file. Last time I checked the mini_installer.exe files in build folders, the most recent build wasn't in there (this may have been fixed already).

By 'deleting all your bookmarks,' do you mean Chromium's? The bookmarks are also stored in the user folder...

Two things;

1. With the zip file, it does not install the browser just extracts it and then you can run it. With the mini_installer, I can install it once but I cannot update it properly with the mini_installer.

2. By bookmarks, I mean, I don't want my Internet Explorer Bookmarks to end up in Chromium!

1. If you want, you can constantly uninstall and reinstall Chromium via the mini installers. I choose not to do so as the silent installer Chrome/ium uses doesn't give any 'success' or 'failed' messages when it's done. With the ZIP, just overwrite your Chromium folder each time a new build is out.

(Actually, for the time being I'm back to the official Google Chrome builds.)

2. I believe Chrome/ium doesn't automatically import anything. It'll prompt you first before it does.

1. I don't think overwriting the folder gives you any information on whether it was good or not? So manual uninstall and install is better!

2. Yeah. I went through that and I seem to have let it import. Now I don't want the bookmarks anymore. What shall I do?

According to this answer, bookmarks are stored in "History."

Now I just realized there's no bookmark manager. WTF. :pinch:

please, please, again, the "security hole" has nothing to do with the webkit engine, it's part of the UI shell, and it's about the design decision of defaulting to automatic start downloads, not about the rendering engine which is NOT responsible of handling file downloads.

Finally :

Don't send queries when URL is like: - starts with http:// or https:// and includes username (e.g. http://[email protected]/) - starts with http:// or https:// and includes query (e.g. http://test.com/?q=x) - starts with https:// and includes path component (e.g. https://test.com/path) so as not to leak user data to the suggest server.

The Chromium project is promising ;)

Yeah they are definitely getting faster. Click-wheel probably isn't on their priority list right now. Trying to make it stable/faster/more secure is.

That is true , although its faster the scrolling is getting a bit iffy. At the first beta, it was smooth but too fast. Now it doesn't seem smooth but slightly slower. Bit choppy almost. That might just be me though :s

It would be nice if that application also had support for the changelogs, and perhaps even a list box to see a changelog history of the past builds.

That wouldn't work right now. The changelogs don't always show all of the changes (revisions). I was doing a changelog per build (like the nightly threads on mozillazine) but it was too difficult due to having to look up every single revision between each build. Sometimes the changelog is blank, then look on the website and there are a crap load of changes.

    • The level of stupidity at Google and Microsoft is beyond belief. All they are doing by killing this is forcing people to jump over to Firefox and ditch them all together, therefore giving Firefox the market boost it needs to finally crush them all in the end.
