Apple software beta question

Recommended Posts

The less information leaked outside of Apple, the better it is for them. They RARELY leak betas, I can only think of iPhone firmware and OS X.

I think they also want as less crap possible to be out. For example, on Windows sometimes, I end up having so many betas that it is unbelievable. My system crashes and everything. Apple wants only final versions.

You can get developer previews from the ADC program (I'm using Safari 4 DP right now) but that's about it I believe...

So, because is free they really don't care to release this to everyone :pinch: I think Apple is too greedy with their softwares.

Well most of the time Apple's way works but sometimes it comes back to bite them in the foot like the problems with MobileMe. Even though they have fixed most of the problems they should have offered a public beta which would have allowed them to fix any problems that popped up and not get the bad press they did when it was released.

MobileMe was rushed, this is a little different. I think the Quality Control team was in the iPhone department, testing the new firmware ;)
