Cannot Create New Volume

I just got my pc and first thing iv wanted to do was put in a second SATA HDD but when i go to disk management to create a new volume I right click but the options are all shaded in and Im pretty sure its reading the HDD since it shows up and i can hear it on my pc is a vista home premium i am the only user/admin and pretty sure its not the services or processes but i can be wrong if someone can help me or correct me what should i do heres a SS of it

First, welcome to Neowin.

Second, the screenshot comes up and says "This image has been moved or deleted." I don't understand what you are asking without a screenshot of the Disk Management window. Also check the BIOS and see if it recognized the hard drive.

I'm not too sure how SATA works, but if they still use jumpers, make sure the jumpers are set correctly.

well i fixed the image but ill try the jumper thing..it does not have a label of whats slave or master and not sure if i need one but i took it out from where it was and still get that same problem

The drive needs to be formatted. I don't know how it works with SATA drives, but the option to Format should be there when you right click the hashed out area where it states 149GB and Unallocated. Try right clicking on the Disk 0 and see if the format option resides there.
