Play and Charge Kit

Recommended Posts

Hey.

So I just picked me up a play and charge kit for the Xbox 360 this morning for ?12, pretty good deal.

I've put the rechargable battery pack into my wireless controller and connected the lead to the Xbox and Controller, it's been charging for about 3 hours so far, the light on the cable is still red, indicating the charge is still happening.

Anyone know how long the first charge should take? And whether subsequent charges are quicker?

Also, should I only connect (and therefore recharge) when the battery is completely empty, or can I keep topping it up whilst it's still okay.

Also, I know I can use the controller whilst it's charging, but is it best for me to just leave it and not use it for this first charge?

Also, where's this new battery guage supposed to be that's mentioned on the box, can't see it on my dashboard.

Also, this is the fourth time I've started a sentence with "Also" this post.

Cheers.

Leave the battery charge for overnight - that should give it about 10-12 hours (which is more than enough).

But a NORMAL charge is about 5-6 hours. Not using the controller charges it quicker.

The battery is NiMH therefore CAN be topped-up but is BEST to just charge when flat/depleted.

For battery status, press the guide button and at the top is a little battery gauge like on cell phone.

If the LED turns green after say 5 hours total charge time, is there a benefit for leaving it an additional 5-7 hours then?

no, but you'll still be alseep :p (which is good for yourself).

also, if charge time becomes annoying think about getting the "Quick Charge Kit" (standalone battery charger).

you can charge one battery and play with another.

Hehe.

Actually, the LED has just turned green - been charging for about 3 hours 10 minutes. In the leaflet with it, it did say the first full charge could take 5-6 hours.. but as I say it appears to be fully charged after half that.

Should I unplug the cable now, or leave it? It's 15:11 here, so I'm not sleeping currently. :p

It's just a case of whether any additional charge time (even though the LED is now green) would be beneficial on the first charge, or not :)

Hmm.

Does the cable thing just pull off from the top of the controller, as I've been pulling it incredibly hard and it's not coming off :p

Hmm, aswell if I turn the console off whilst the LED is red (was green, back to red now), the LED completely goes off. I thought it would put the console into standby and continue to charge?

Just give it a little wiggle and it should come right off.

With my play and charge kit, after turning the system off with the cable connected, the 360 usually seems to stay on for about 10-15 minutes charging and then just shuts itself off whether or not it is done.

    • This is of course "clickbait" WTF? It is literally your example but tech based. A "clickbait" title is a sensationalized headline designed to manipulate readers into clicking a link using things like "fear" rather than delivering objective facts. A "clickbait" headline also usually provides little value compared to the hype generated. How does this headline not qualify? It's a generic often reused headline that is overly sensationalized. Oh no! "millions" can't use this app anymore. It has no basic facts like what f*cking app. You read the article and it's the Samsung VPN which no one cares about and there is a million free VPNs. How are you defending this ######? Headlines like this (and among other things) make me read Neowin much less than I used to in the past. It's trash...
