do you add Feat. "who ever"

Recommended Posts

Oh I never include it in the artist field. That's one thing that bugs me even more than really long track names: an artist's tracks split into several "artists" because of things like that. I just have the artist name as the main artist and the featured one as I said above in the track name.

I do mine the same way. It drives me nuts to have several "artist" listings for the same artists.

This is something I'm very very picky about. I absolutely hate having "Feat." in the name. For the ID3 tags, I have it set where the Artist has "only" the original artist, and then for the track name I have:

"Song Name (Featuring Whoever) (Remix) (Produced By Producer's Name)"

I always put the entire word "(Featuring )" in there after the song title. If the song is a remix, then I'll put "(Remix) after the "(Featuring )" so I know who else is on the song, and at the end of that I put "(Produced By )" so that I know who the producer of the song is. A lot of people don't care about that, but I like knowing as much about the song as possible. And since I pay very close attention to the production aspects of a song, knowing who produced it is important to me as well.

Artist is always just the main artist "Artist"

Title is always like this "Title (ft. The Other, Artists, & You Know)"

Prevents multiple artists in ipods and just a good way to tag your music.

and name them

TrackNumber-Artist-Title

Ex) 04-50_cent-still_kill_(ft._akon).mp3

something like that

I imagine it's a lot different for the type of music you listen to. With Rap it'll be something like: 50 Cent - |01| - Going to the Club (feat. Your Mom, His Mom, Her Mom and Your Sister). For my collection it's simply one artist all the time, but I still do it the same way. It looks best this way IMO.

I think adding featured artist to the artist panel is a waste considering it messes with your organizing as well as sorting. Not to mention, very rarely is a person featured on more than one track of the album.

    • The site is pretty sparse on features / tech specs. Can I plug it into a PC/hone/Switch via USB-C and use it as an external display? If so, what's the virtual resolution of the screen, the refresh rate, PPI of the image etc? Is the text crisp enough to use for coding at say 12pt? Is it good enough for playing dark games, like say Path of Exile 2? How about fast games like car racing games? Just how do they expect anyone to order this thing without giving out all this info?
