Left 4 Dead demo due soon

Valve's frantic survival-horror FPS could serve up a demo earlier than expected.

In an interview at PAX, where Valve were showcasing the new Xbox version of their popular online FPS (which won best online multiplayer game at E3), they let on that there will be a demo on Xbox Live.

With a European retail release date of 21st November, that can't be far off now.

Other announcements for the transfer from PC to Xbox include new auto-aim features and the fact that there will be dedicated servers to smooth out online play. Any thoughts?

I can see why they wouldn't want a demo but it would be nice to see how it plays.

I think i recalls hearing about that aswell.

Oh well we got a demo now! Hopefully *soon* won't be much later like their releases in the past.

about the dedicated servers - im sure tehy learnt that trick from the mess that was team fortress (awesome game, shame about the lag)

Dedicated servers for a dead game? That wouldn't be a waste of money.

Well with the upcoming DLC they might include some dedicated servers to accomadate any new players and the existing ones. It's not completely out of the question, but I wouldn't hold out on it.

I'm just glad they have learnt and not making the same mistake with L4D (Y)

Yup (co-op 2 to 4 players, and versus 4 vs 4) as well as split screen (Y)
