Looking for a command line ftp program

I'm looking for a command line ftp program that allows deleting non-empty directories. I tried the built in ftp on XP but it doesn't allow deleting directories with files in them.

The reason for this is that I'm making a batch script which includes ftping files to a server.

There is more than one delete command, did you try rmdir /s ?

I get an error: 502 xrmd is not implemented.
