The film is an anthology of five Halloween-related scary stories.

It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us, and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil mischief, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten.

Nothing is what it seems when a suburban couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight, a terrifying principal (Dylan Baker) with a serial killer attitude teaches one neighbor the true meaning of Halloween, Laurie (Anna Paquin), a young woman dressed as little red riding hood, is stalked by a mysterious hooded figure at a local Halloween Festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local urban legend of a school bus massacre; and a cantankerous old hermit (Brian Cox), is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick.

Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem...the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety?human and otherwise?try to survive the scariest night of the year.

If you live in LA you will be able to see this soon!

Lucky resident of the Hollywood area are in for a real Halloween treat as Michael Dougherty's long-delayed Trick 'r Treat is scheduled to make it's Los Angeles premiere on October 10th as part of the Screamfest Horror Film Festival. The film will play at the Grauman?s Theatre in Hollywood and feature a Q+A with Dougherty following the screening. Click the title above for more info on the film or read on for a brand new synopsis. Other films that will be playing the October event are SPLINTER, DANCE OF THE DEAD, MARTYRS, THE BURROWERS and PARASOMNIA, with many more to be announced soon.

AICN Has a Review Up!

It was a fantastic independent horror film with a tone similar to that of Creepshow or Tales From the Crypt. It easily combined elements of black comedy and fantasy, but kept the gore and creep factors there for the horror fans.

:woot:

It's finally getting a release!

Just watching some of my favorite bits from Trick R Treat in a brand new trailer made me smile; Mike Dougherty's Halloween anthology film is a bona fide classic, and while it's a tragedy that Warner Bros has been sitting on it for about two years now it looks like it will at least get some sort of release. That new trailer includes a sting at the end where it's announced that the film will hit Blu-Ray and DVD this October.

I really hope that Warner Bros promotes the film by setting up at least a handful of screenings. This is a movie that works magnificently in a crowded theater, a movie that's a great date flick. The trailer uses a Wizard magazine quote saying that Trick R Treat is the best Halloween film in 30 years, but I disagree. I think it's the best Halloween film I have ever seen.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
