Supernatural Season 4

What did everybody else think? I thought it was alright; Charlie being the one behind it, as well his out-of-nowhere history and abilities, seemed a little too "deus ex machina" for me, but whatever. Liked how it was a bit of a downer ending. Plus, a little bit of development on the overarching storyline!

Yeah, I agree. The ending was an out-of-nowhere wrap up. But, I still enjoyed the episode. Especially the scene where Dean goes to see "the Chief".

Sam restarts his training with Ruby again at the end. Now more than ever I have this feeling that Sam is going to "turn evil" since he keeps giving in to his dark side. Ruby and Sam hinted that there is something Sam does during his training (that we haven't seen yet) other than telepathy that he refuses to do anymore. I think he's drinking Ruby's blood to boost his powers, much like how Azazel originally gave Sam his powers. Personally I think Ruby, all along, has been training Sam to prepare him for the eventual possession by Lucifer himself. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

That's an interesting theory spacer. Here's my take on it: I think Ruby wants Sam to succeed Lucifer. I also think that she isn't "evil" even though she's a demon. It kinda makes sense too since Sam doesn't want to hunt as an old man. What better way to do it than to beat the source of all evil? I really think the series will end with Sam leading the armies of Hell and Dean leading the armies of Heaven.

Sam and Ruby kept referring to 'it', but never actually specified what 'it' is.

To be completely honest, with the Sam/Ruby sex clip in the recap, I kept thinking that 'it' was the two of them getting it on. Especially when Ruby said something like "The way it makes you feel inside." Heh.

A number of you have emailed me about reports that Supernatural Executive Producer Kim Manners passing away last night.

We are trying to confrim his passing with the studio, however we would like to extend our condolensces to the Supernatural family and fans--if this story is true it is a huge loss to the community and show.

:(

:(

I'm not really sure what an executive-producer does so I'm not sure how that will affect the show, but that sucks to hear of her passing. If it is true (and it probably is, who would joke about something like that?) then I wish her survivors well.

Not to disrepect the news of the possible death of one of the shows team members, but I'm excited for tonight's episode. I've been waiting to see the "dodgeball" scene for a while now.

Great episode. It really brought back some old high school memories. Some good, some bad. Did anyone catch what the credits said at the end? I think I read something along the lines of "In memory of Tim Look". I probably didn't get his name right but I wonder who he was. Also, I could've sworn it said "In memory of Kim Manners".

Just watched this weeks and I loved it, luckly my high school wasn't that bad but it does show school life down to a tee.

I saw the dedications at the end as well.

I also thought it was another episode where we could see the teams divided.

Well I join this forum because I am also a supernatural fan.

Well so sad for the lost. I maid some google and i found this,

Kim Manners, director and executive producer of Supernatural, died of lung cancer on 25 January, 2009. Our sympathies and thoughts to his family and close friends on the cast and crew of Supernatural.

"Everyone at Supernatural is walking around in a daze, shocked and absolutely devastated. Kim was a brilliant director; more than that, he was a mentor and friend. He was one of the patriarchs of the family, and we miss him desperately. He gave so much to Supernatural, and everything we do on the show, now and forever, is in memory of him."

The Manners family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Memory of Kim. Donate at http://www.cancer.org

Thanks for that, Networkmancer. It truly is a loss for the show and the family of Kim Manners. My condolences go out to his family and friends. May he RIP. :(

/me patiently waits for Rappy's oh-so special updates. :p

Thanks for the videos, Rappy. My younger siblings love to watch Supernatural but it looks like they won't be watching this week's episode. Unfortunately, they're all underage and an episode titled "Sex and Violence" is inappropriate for their age group. I'll definitely watch it though, hehe.

Yeah it does look very risky lol but good for us :p

How about an all Supernatural column? -- Katy

Ausiello: Would you settle for an all Supernatural answer instead? The final three episodes of the season can be summed up in three words: Dean vs. Sam. Also, the kid who plays Mary Louise Parker's son, Shane, on Weeds has been cast as a ghost in a spring episode.

As predicted

    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
