SBS 2003 USB ICY DOCK ST 500GB disappearing

Hi. I keep losing my new icy box USB sata which has a seagate 500GB in it. I'm using a HP dl140 server, with SBS 2003 fully windows updated. It happens after about 20 minutes of the drive being on. Just disappears from everywhere, obviously I don't even get the chance to "safe stop" it.

Anyone else seen this behaviour?

First guess would be something is over heating, could be the hdd or the caddy holding it.

Best test would be to plug it in to another computer (windows xp or window server 2003) and use it from there and see if the same issues arises.

tape it to your desk so you can find it
