[Official] Gears of War 2

Recommended Posts

So, my brother and I just beat this game last night in co-op. I must say, it's my current favorite 360 game so far. Everything thing about is so much better than the original and I had a blast (literally and figuratively).

We're special :p

I've not done it myself but I've heard when you are in kill cam there is an option to do it.

edit: no more 33Brad? :( lawl

Hmmm, fair enough :p

What's kill cam? When you die in horde?

And yes, no more 33Brad, rofl.

I'll be on sometime today guys, probably going to jump back into the campaign. Instead of the COG tags this time around, I like actually learning more about the story with those journal entries filling that spot. Really polished all around.

Sadly though, it seemed like the campaign was lagging (FPS wise) quite a bit yesterday on multiple levels so I'm not sure what is up with that. I installed it to HD now so I will see if that makes any difference.

I almost did that... thankfully I caught myself. I accidentally moved one of the sticks and almost pressed it.

As someone who likes getting achievements, I love the ones in Gears of War 2 so far... they're all attainable and fun to get. Seriously 2.0 is going to take a long time, along with the 1999 rounds, but they're all still fun.

Finally got around to playing this, not far in, but it's a lot of fun!

Story is gonna be iffy, but I ain't playing it for that :p

Gonna get some mates to co-op at mine during the week, I can't get on Live till the 19th  (no jokes Munky ;))

Story's much better than the first, IMO... I don't have a problem with the story, personally. I don't see why people consider it bad... just not that in-depth. But the game also assumes you know everything about the war, just as Half-Life 2 does ;)

in kill cam - the way you are able to view the game when dead, press the B button, you view these in the journal

Yup, then if you get a good one, just press Y to upload it, then sign into your Windows Live ID on gearsofwar.com and visit the 'My Photos' section to save them to your gallery or your PC.

I haven't played online yet (dorm connection sucks and I have the NXE and am not in the program), but is it really true you can't have guests because there are no player matches? And that matchmaking is the only option -- ranked only?

As far as I have found out no guests. While I complained earlier, I thought about it for a while and realized it was a better decision on their part. In the original it was separated into player (you can have guests) and ranked (no guests). If my friends and I wanted to ever play ranked, it turned out to be always against insanely good people. We would try just player matches but it would always be glitchers and people screwing around.

This time around, it is all condensed so you will play against good people and bad. If people do screw around, you can actually coordinate bad feedback against them etc. If you want to play with guests, stick to Horde I guess.

Yeh basicly no matchmaking for guests :( but i think theyre allowed in private matches (custom games) it is a bit annoying that theres no unranked, but its a bit dumb you can't have guests

actually anyone know if guests allowed in wingman? coz thats the only other playlist i can see them being allowed into

and indeed, the cool parts of the game are EPIC :woot:

    • Exactly. They won't go 100 because current gen consoles are simply too old for any groundbreaking graphics or gaming experience otherwise. They will go with standard (console) price 70 or go with 80 if they really want to go premium. Of course they will have more expensive options too with some useless cosmetics as always.
    • Doesn’t surprise me at all. God is light & He gave us life so it sounds almost logical that we would therefore emit a certain amount of light.
    • This is what I want. Hey Gemini, how do I remove you from all my google products permanently?
    • I would never install install this build before rtm process. only 3 months to go. never install on your daily devices. just wait 3 months.
