Yeah I was gonna say, Carmine was pretty damn helpful picking myself or Kick up when we played co-op. Especially when I was too busy fighting back waves of locust or we had a distance between us.

I played the game for the first time yesterday afternoon, and I gotta say it's badass. I never played MP on the first Gears, but I plan on this being the replacement for CoD4 for me. I played through the MP tutorials (to get the achievement), and that was actually a lot of fun, even with the bots. However, I think I'm gonna need someone to play through co-op with me on Insane once I beat it (might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone, get the co-op achievement and the insane achievement at the same time). If anyone is interested, please send me a PM and let me know, or send me a message on XBL. I probably won't be done with the single player campaign until the end of the week though, maybe next week, since I'm busy with work. But I definitely want to get this done.

Also, does anyone know how to use the damn mortar launcher to send mortars farther than like 50ft away from you lol. I tried aiming it higher, lower, straight ahead, and it seemed like it went the same distance every time.

You're doing something wrong then. The longer you hold the right trigger down the farther it goes, the longer dash line shows you the distance of the last mortar you fired so you know to send it shorter or farther.

oh snap, never figured that out either than

I might have to hit you up on that offer then. I want to go through insane co-op this weekend to as I will be going home from college (that weekend).

is anyone having any problems connecting to a game? i was searching for about 20 mins!!!

It found my team but couldn't find a team to play against....

From the official Epic forums:

Q: Slow Matchmaking ? Why does it take so long for matchmaking to find me a game?

A: This is an issue that?s affecting some folks, and Epic and Microsoft are both looking into it. I'll let you know more details as I have them.

Yeah, just been sat here 20 mins.

I learnt that the hard way during the chapter with the Brumak fight in the tunnel

    • I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?
    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....
