Quantum of Solace Demo Released

Seems like it'll be a good game, but it's a very short demo. I'd also personally get it for the 360 or PS3, too, just because of the feel.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting tired of developers who port games to the PC not give us PC-standard features like save anywhere. That's one of my biggest beefs with current PC releases.

So I downloaded the thing and didn't even play the full 3 minutes until I decided to quit.

I can't put my finger on it, game just seems ... generic. The Call of Duty 4 engine is the only plus about it, everything does feel a bit familiar but there is something about this game I don't like. Maybe it's the boring animations, how every enemy seems to fall over the ledge the exact same way when you shoot them, how many times you are able to shoot at the guy you are chasing yet nothing happens ( I know you aren't supposed to kill him during the 'chase' but why give me 30 chances to kill him due to horrible scripting ). Could be that fact that console ports just feel like ass and trumpets when played on the PC ...

Oh well, skip :)

Well that was dissapointing, everything felt really clunky and awkward, im guessing cause its a simple console port. What a shame i had high hopes for this, i will probably still play it cause i love bond.

Its a shame really. They know they can make a sub par game, but people will buy it just because of the name. That's the issue with games such as this nowadays. With it being the first Bond Game on PC for what? 4 years? I was hoping people would be ranting and raving about it. Oh well :(

I think the reason it sucks so bad is because Treyarch are the main developers, the only game worthy of note they have done was Call of Duty 3 and that was rubbish.

Cant blame the developers porting it to PC if the original game to begin with is crap.

This given to Gearbox could have been an amazing game, but then it probably wouldnt have been out in time for the movie, maybe thats why Activision chose Treyarch because they can knock out any old crap quickly.

Just IMO, but some of you guys are being way too critical of it. It's just a short demo to give you an idea of the game. It's fairly fun, looks good and has good mechanics. It definitely feels like a console game, which is why I'll likely get it for the 360, but it's not a bad game at all.

We can't criticise from the short demo yet you can praise it, double standards much?

The demo was fun and action packed. However, it was too short. I had a "WTF" moment when it ended. What happened to the demos from back in the day? Nowadays, demos are increasing in file size and decreasing in playtime.

    • Honestly... 4 wasn't fun, 5 had unlikeable, annoying, or dull characters... Yeah, to me the magic died with San Andreas.
