Opinions on future pc build?

Recommended Posts

Just want some opinions on what you guys think of this possible pc build. I had another topic regarding the graphics card but it seems to have gotten deleted. Maybe somebody can suggest a better component than the ones I've chosen for a similar price. Here is the build. I'm thinking of placing the order on the 7th (today) so I would greatly appreciate some fast opinions.

i would sac a little speed for quad core... it seems like on average the cpus with more cores are doing better.

never bought that mobo brand so i can't say much about the quality but specs look good.

everything else is good..

video card depends on what you plan to do with this...

and i would look into the case. doesn't seem to have much ventilation... but it's big and nice. so it should be good for the bigger mobo.

ECS sucks. By a MSI or Gigabyte motherboard

By a Western Digital hard drive

If you're not gonna overclock, get the Q6600. Get it anyways, even if you do want to over clock

Your power supply could be a lot better

What are you planning on doing with this PC?

If you can must about another $50-60 you can get a much better case (many CoolerMaster cases in the $55 range), power supply (check out the Corsair Value series), motherboard (you can get into a Gigabyte or MSI for another $10-15. I'd also recomend going eVGA with the video card just to keep the step up option. Someone else mentioned quad core and I'd suggest that if you don't upgrade often I would go quad core as well. A little more money now will save you a lot of money later.

Ok I update the list according to most of your recommendations so if you could give it another quick look at before I place the order I would really appreciate it. I have class in a bit so I'll check back around 4 hours.

And thanks so much for all of your input.

$10 more puts you in a much better monitor...

    • And none of them have a "notchless" 3:2 OLED screen, for which I was always willing to pay more.
