Ive had the new firefox for like a month now(version 3), im a nub so i dont know the exact version number, but nearly everytime i open it it will either freeze or open and then freeze, sometimes when im streaming video(comedy entral, youtube) it will work fine and in the middle freeze. It just randomly freezes but it happens more often then not. I have no problem with IE but firefox atm is driving me crazy.

any one have any thoughts on this or any ideas on whats happening here

Do you have a lot of tabs open? What is your internet connection like?

I find sometimes that videos can play up or it can be slow if I'm opening ten tabs at once because that's a lot to download.

If you don't think that's the problem, my next suggestion would be to try uninstalling it and trying afresh with a new download of the installer. I would also make sure you haven't got some beta version, although I think that's unlikely if you go to the usual download page.

I have had the latest 3.0.3 just randomly crash and i got the "Frefox has crashed' screen, but mostly it works just fine, although i still find there being a problem with pages using a lot of flash, you try CTRL + T and it does nothing, so you have to click a non flash webpage tab to be able to open a new tab, that can be annoying.

Crashes seem to have come its way toward me after updating to 3.0.1 a month ago; thought updates fixed bugs, not create more (although that seems to be common now). Wait for the next update I guess, since I tried reinstalling, rebooting, reinstalling add-ons, removing ALL add-ons, to no avail.

if i were to re-install would i lose my add-ons?, i dont want to have to do the whole bookmark toolbar thing again

There is an option when you remove it to leave your profile and such intact, just do not check that. The latest release is Fx 3.03. You can DL it from here.

I would have said to create a new FF profile, this can be done by running this command from the windows run box if you're using windows:

firefox -profilemanager

Create a new profile and start FF using that new profile, if everything works fine it could be the add-ons ur using, make sure they're compatible with FF3 and not forced to be made compatible. if u force an add-on to be compatible, you're opening up ur ff experience to be iffy at times and random crashes, etc.

But if you wanted to backup your addons u can use this app here: Mozilla Backup (MozBackup), downloadable here: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
