Can't be helpe:pinch:h:

Radish?

Indeed, that said I have no problems in waiting around for it as I'm not really in the position to play it right n:p :p .

Scirwode

I don't know why everyone is so shocked and disappointed when delays are announced for BM. We are talking about a very small-ish team recreating one of the best single (and MP) player games of all time - literally from scratch.

I for one don't mind the delays as long as the final product is as good as we all hope it'll be.

Cynics may now rejoice, bets may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat his shoe, but we hope our loyal fans will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final product that's (hopefully) more easily available to everyone."

Once again we apologize for what has to be very disappointing news. We placed a 2009 deadline on ourselves to motivate us and bring this 6 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it, we have come very close, and you can expect a complete, polished game to hit your hard drives in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, hang tight, it's coming!

They're just lining they're check books and doing no work at all.

This is all a great big f***ing sham.

Reminds me of

And Duke Nukem Forever.

Quit having false hope guys. This is pathetic.

This. Not only that, but it is being done in their free time! It's not like they work for a game dev company and get paid to do this as a day job. >.>

I've been watching this project for years now. As long as the finished product is good, and i have no reason to believe it won't be, I don't care about delays; there's other games to play in the meantime. As a former modder myself from back in the old days, I do believe this will be the greatest mod of all time (easily the most ambitious that I am aware of), and that many of these guys, if not all, will have future job offers from Valve and others when this is all said and done.

Still, here's hoping for a 2010 release. :D

I played Half-life a few years after the original release and I played through the single-player, I never understood the fuss about it - Felt like a pretty generic first person shooter with a pretty average sci-fi story. I'm not sure whether I'm missing something or it's because I wasn't part of the original release hype but doing it again with better graphics doesn't seem very appealing? If your just looking for a decent first person shooter, the market is flooded with them and many of them are more fun, look better and have an overall better story.

It's probably some nostalgia thing I'm not getting ...

Yeah it won't be as great as they make it out to be. It's a high quality mod, but it's still gonna have those cringe-worthy moments where you're fully aware that something was done by some kid in his spare time.

Yeah, and?

Lots of stuff is done by people in their spare time, doesn't make it any lower quality than stuff done at other times. Team Fortress, Counter Strike and Day of Defeat were done by people in their spare time, I think they worked out ok.

Yeah but this game is attempting to copy a commerical game. You have something to compare it to now.

Sorta like that Classic Doom mod for Doom 3. That was a high quality mod, yet it still had a lot of facepalm moments. :p
