[Official] Halo 3: ODST

Recommended Posts

I've had 2 emails from GAME today - one said they're doing the payment process early which I guess you guys have all seen and also this one:

I am delighted to let you know that your Preorder for Halo 3: ODST including Halo Reach BETA Access is now being processed subject to successful payment being taken from your credit card when it is dispatched. The order will be despatched by your chosen delivery method in time to reach you for the day of release.

Seeing as there is no reason for my payment to fail I guess mine's ok. Every other time I use GAME and I get the email about it being processed, I then get a follow-up later on the same day saying the product is on its way.

The status on the accounts part of the site says:

17/09/2009 Your credit/ debit card has been authorised and your order is now being released for packing. Funds will not be debited until your order is shipped.

17/09/2009 Your order is waiting for authorisation and release for packing.

19/06/2009 Your order is currently held as a Preorder

Would you guys think mine's ok or could they still cancel it at this point?

Did you use any voucher glitch etc?

Your order seems fine to me.

Crap Munky I forgot all about the Reach beta! I was playing on just going to any of the local shops here in town while all the kiddies are at school and picking up my game.

So your saying I wouldn't get the beta code then?

As far as I know reach beta code goes only to those who preoredered I'm afraid :(

Why not pre order anyway Mystic. YOUR NOT SPENDING MORE MONEY PRE ORDERING. I am rightfully gonna turn down anyone trying to buy ODST without a pre order, its BS. Preorder it if you are SURE your gonna buy it dont just "pck it up".

Also Beta codes are ONLY for pre orders, we have been strickly told. Any copy sold thats a pre order to a normal customer, we will have issues.

I'm identical. And I know that we both glitched ?10 off.

@munky, GAME in ipswich are advertising odst ith the reach beta, I asked and they said anyone who gets odst on launch day (without preorder) then you'll get a code.

Hmm interesting, but what does that mean exactly?

If you preorder the game, you won't get a code from them?

Or regardless if you preorder or not, anyone who purchases it on day 1 will get a code?

Because I've pre ordered many games growing up at stores like Gamestop for example. Somehow even though I preodered I would never get the game right away because there would tons of people on "the list" in front of me. So while everybody else was playing the game, I would have to wait a week or two until they got more copies in.

Instead I just go to Wal-Mart, Target, etc and pick up brand new games, the day of with no hassle as they always have tons in stock no matter what.

game is a meh at most and fees like a mod/expansion.... all i am saying. You guys can form your own opinions after you play it. The series needs a bit of a reboot or a new engine or something. At least the cast of serenity/firefly are doing the voices :D

Im sorry to hear that man, but personally, reserving stuff from about 3 gamestops now(2 originally back home in ny and this one in chicago), you always get your copy.

The policy has been reserve orders come first, exspecially since we are suppose to hold them for 48 hours. The store I work at we honor customers. If you reserve your reserve will be here for a whole week. After that we always get more. But if its a big game, its gonna stay for a week instead of someone who comes to the store quiet often but tends NOT to pre order, and then complains they didnt get this code ,or that tshirt, or this bonus. Thats bogus.

All I know is, try it now, or file a complaint. Because, the policy has been 48 hours on your pre order, and seeing how its a Street Dated game, we get the copies before hand, and if we have copies 1 week prior, but people are starting to reserve more(like now, always happens), they send us some on the day of the 21st(for this game as an example) to cover the remaining pre orders. Its always happened like this, in my 1+ year working at my store, I havent seen 1 customer go without getting there pre order on time. Rather it be something small, or big, they got it always.

Yes.

It's where the whole story started even before the first Halo game. Assuming it's the Planet Reach and not something else :p If you want to know more then time to buy/borrow the books!

The covenant were first contacted much farther out in UNSC space. It actually was a couple meetings with them before even the Spartans were aware of the Covenant's existence. So the the earliest Halo game in the entire library of released and planned Halo games is actually Halo Wars, which takes place on Harvest (first true engagement of the Cov-Human war) before Reach was discovered and attacked by the largest Covenant armada up till that point (315 covenant to the UNSC's 152 warships, 20 orbital MAC's, and 3 small city-sized repair vessels - keep in mind that the UNSC has lost almost every engagement when their odds were less than 3:1 in their favor). The only larger fleet ever recorded was at the Unyielding Hierophant station in First Strike. It was capable of supporting over 500 ships and was capable of slip-space travel. It was destroyed while the Covenant were gearing up for the invasion of Earth.

The game itself was originally intended to be just a bit more than an expansion, so if it has that feeling I'm not worried. Reach on the other hand NEEDS something more.

    • Now 8GB of ram looks even worse in the Neo. I'm so happy I purchased 128GB of DDR 4 when I did.... paid $174. Upgraded my parents laptop to 32GB around the same time for $48. Luckily I have a TON of spare laptops. So i'm good on laptops for a while. I also have a lot of desktops too that I could use if i had to. Lets just hope nothing happens to my main 4 monitor couch workstation.
    • I will keep my current devices for several years... no planning in upgrading until these devices stop working. Too pricey.
    • Apple raises MacBook and iPad prices as memory costs surge by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has raised the U.S. prices of several MacBook and iPad models, including the MacBook Neo, which it launched for $599 less than four months ago. The company’s cheapest laptop now starts at $699, while some MacBook Pro configurations have increased by $300. The changes affect the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Apple has not changed the hardware or storage included with these models, so customers are simply paying more for the same configurations. Here is how the new US pricing compares with the previous starting prices: Product Previous price New price Increase MacBook Neo $599 $699 $100 13-inch MacBook Air, 512GB $1,099 $1,299 $200 14-inch MacBook Pro, 1TB $1,699 $1,999 $300 16-inch MacBook Pro $2,699 $2,999 $300 11-inch iPad Air, 128GB $599 $749 $150 13-inch iPad Air, 128GB $799 $949 $150 11-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $999 $1,199 $200 13-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $1,299 $1,499 $200 The updated prices are already appearing on Apple’s U.S. online store. The MacBook Neo increase will probably attract the most attention. Apple introduced the laptop in March for $599, pitching it as a more affordable Mac for students and buyers considering Windows laptops or Chromebooks. It uses an A18 Pro processor and originally undercut Dell’s new $699 XPS 13 by $100. Following the increase, the two laptops now have the same starting price. The M5 MacBook Air has also lost the price Apple promoted when it launched in March. The 13-inch model arrived with 512GB of storage for $1,099, while Apple’s store now lists the MacBook Air range as starting at $1,299. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip and 1TB of storage has gone from $1,699 to $1,999. Apple has made similar changes to its iPads. The recently released M4 iPad Air, which launched at the same $599 starting price as its predecessor, now starts at $749 for the 11-inch version. The 13-inch version has risen from $799 to $949. The iPad Pro increases are larger in dollar terms. Apple’s 11-inch M5 iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, up from $999, while the 13-inch version has moved from $1,299 to $1,499. Both base models still include 256GB of storage. Apple blamed the increases on the rapidly rising cost of DRAM and NAND flash, which provide system memory and device storage. The company told Reuters that it had tried to shield customers from the increases but could no longer absorb them. “We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said. Tim Cook had already warned that price increases were coming. Cook said Apple’s existing component inventory had softened the immediate impact, but that higher memory costs would increasingly affect the company after the June quarter. Much of the pressure comes from the construction of AI data centers. Memory manufacturers are directing more production toward high-margin server products, leaving PC, tablet, and smartphone makers competing for the remaining supply. Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary or whether further increases are planned. For now, the changes show that even Apple’s purchasing power has not been enough to keep the AI-driven memory shortage away from consumer devices.
    • Ventoy 1.1.16 is out.
    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
