[Official] Halo 3: ODST

Recommended Posts

I has to be honest with you guys I'm not all that impressed since I got into it.

I feel as if Bungie repackaged the game and sold it to us. But those are my 2 cents. At least there's Halo Legends to look forward to.

The sprites(viewing armor, colors, & emblems) in fightfight look like ass to me; it sort of looks like Halo 2 res'd up.

I'm sorry for being so negative but if there's one thing to look forward to it's the campaign and that's as interesting as it gets.

My opinion might change if I keep on playing it but I stressed my case here. I wouldn't give this game a ;9 IGN was too forgiving. an 8.5 is more like it.

Does anyone know if Halo 3 and ODST are 4 player local co-op? I only have two controllers so I can't test it myself, but I'm considering buying some more controllers if it supports 4 player local CO OP.

I know Halo 3 only allowed a max of two people on one 360 for Co-Op.

So far. Starting 12:25 to now which is 3:55 ive played ODST.

I played Firefight till 1:30-1:45 and then Co-Op. Its been VERY fun and interesting. Us 2 started on Legendary right away. Let me tell you, them hunters are a bitch to kill.

Other then that I LOVE the nightvision. I love having the magnum back. I got boom headshots everytime i killed a sniper or etc.

So far I love the game overall. Gonna play ODST more until we beat it, then firefight for a week or 2 and then try some of the new halo 3 maps.

Oh btw, The controller is ****ing BA. They actually made these nicely. Nice and smooth, no scratching, squeaking, looseness etc. The controller just feels like a new one of a kind controller. I say this because recently I bought my GF a black controller. All we do at her house is play CoD4/Outrun/BF1943 whenever we play xbox. After a week the x gave out on the first one and became sticky. The second one had a really bad squeaking left joystick. Exspecially playing Cod4 or NFS: Shift it was Loud and bad. Now third one, hopefully will work better, so far so good. Oh btw all 3 were black controllers, i know it doesnt matter but yeah just a surprise since my Red one has been going strong for a year now almost. My black one is so far so good in the 6 months, and my ODST one after 2-3 hours of game play is feeling very nice.

Anyway, so far the game is good. We will see where it goes.

2 player legendary is ridiculously easy. Only hard thing has been going for most of the kill achievements and what not whenever I could (which really isn't that hard). About to start Data Hive after pizza breakfast (all night gaming ftw) and finish the last two levels, then a power nap, and finish all the odd-ball achievements and/or start some firefight.

My tag is in the sig. Roomate and I looking to play later, but by then we may have some local friends awake/off work and ready to go. I dunno, Firefight better be fun.

ffs my play.com preorder has been "processing" what seems like forever! whats the deal?

Sorry to hear that Green_Eye, any reason why you picked Play.com for pre-order. They are very slow for pre-orders. Best bet is to cancel and order from Shopto. I ordered yesterday and got it today. I hope you get a copy soon.

come on, it's 65 bucks, you can do it. few are poorer than me these days, but as the sarge says, it's sacrifice we need. put on your niu li jia you face dude.

LOL, but that's my beer money!! How can I go the whole week with no beer?!?!

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
