its not that good, it offers not much space, and costs a lot if you want some more, but it seems everyone's using it.

I use FileQube.com, they have similar features to box.net and the layout is nice.

Alot of businesses use it share documents and stuff between employees thats why its popular, infact dropbox is more popular now for stuff like that.

As far as I'm concerned, It's not THAT popular.There is one that is VERY popular, And it isn't Box.net

Dropbox FTW. Google it. What I like best is shared folders, file revisions, to name a few.

i have both dropbox and use box.net

i use box.net for school.. 1gb is more than i need to store documents and hmwrk assignments.

the cool thing is, i can open a document, save it, and then i can "replace with new version" so easy and it has a ton of other great features.

so many things support it, it integrates with practically everything.

i already have a Paid hosting, im using it only to have it do automatic things like upload my addons, automatic backup of stuff, and it has great support to everything.

I've never heard about it before today. I use MediaFire and RapidShare. They do the work just fine.

I have a Dropbox account since few months, I still not very used it but I will soon get a laptop and this will become very useful...

I love dropbox, i have it sync between home and work computers and its just amazing! only thing is it's a pain to get the url to some files if I want to send it to someone.

Box.net is quick, easy to use, and easy to organize and share folders of files. It's not meant to be a "store-all" solution for gigabyes and gigabytes of files, bust smaller stuff.

It's come out to public beta for a while now, just click the download link, you'll be able to sign up for an account on first-run.

Dropbox actually lets you share images etc with friends... it gives you a link.

How do we know these online storage files aren't accessed by anyone in a company, or whatnot? How trustworthy are they.

I got an free premium box.net account a few years ago when it was beta. I've been using it ever since.

I love Box.net However, I never use it. I just don't share things that often like that... or like collaborate that often.

I think the answer you're looking for is: Because it's easy-to-use, has nice graphics and a nice interface, and is rather intuitive and user-friendly.

You shouldn't store your assignment files on the internet, ever O_o especially these sites providing web services for free..you'll never know when they decide to take a peek at your files
