The 28 Best FPS Games

Recommended Posts

Why the hell would one of THE most successful titles in the history of video games need its sales boosted? Is it not at all possible that there is a world outside your own head and that just MAYBE there are people in that world with a differing taste to yours?

Hell I am seriously under the impression that Bungie has personally beaten up and stolen the lunch money off 60% of the gaming community, it is the only logical explanation for the excruciating hate the Halo franchise gets /sarcasm

It seems I offended a worshiper of Master Chief

It's not a personal thing. RTCW was huge from the moment the first multiplayer test demo was released. The game had a striking balance of a great single player and a very competitive multiplayer which is class-based, one of the first games of its type at the time that gained great popularity. The proof is that today, Enemy Territory (free MP of RTCW + extras) is still very much played today.

We're talking about the best FPS games, not the best selling FPS games. I came across many Halo fans who would tell me that Halo 2 was better than Halo 3.

Besides, the proof that this list is more BS is that newer games like Bioshock are ahead of epic games like Duke Nukem 3D. Bioshock has a nice story line and all, but its gameplay has nothing on Duke Nukem 3D which at the time was HUGE. Bioshock today is not HUGE. At least Doom 2 is in the tops, so I don't mind this list too much :D

 that is so far from funny...

You have completely missed my point and are going on about something completely different :s

Let me bring you back to the question of why one of THE most successful games in the history of entertainment in general would need help in boosting sales from a top 28 list? Seriously answer me that...

    • What they really need to do is automatically spell "loses" and "lose" correctly since nobody seems to know how to anymore. Then they blame spellcheck/autocomplete and don't realize autocomplete is just filling in the word for them automatically so it was misspelled in the first place.
    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
