I'm leaving, I'm tired of people arguing in every topic nowadays. It just seems this place is full of underage fanboy geegs. Every topic here seems to turn into fight about nonsense and i'm sick of it.

But I will still miss alot of people here :).

Bye.

Wait, who were you again? Oh. Right.

With responses like these I'm not surprised he's leaving.

I agree. I recoginze his name and his post were decent.

It is getting old seeing every thread with a caption picture in it. The community sure has changed in the last year a lot.

Hope to see you around bro.

You've gotta do what you've gotta do. Personally I don't get too worked up over what other people do or say on forums, but I can understand how some things can become aggravating enough to make you want to leave. Don't be a stranger, eh?

With responses like these I'm not surprised he's leaving.

No kidding.

Well seriusly, if you can't take the heat, don't join a damn discussion forum.

I mean he didn't say he left beceause of the stupid picture posts every WoW kid is doing. he left beause peopel where arguing... in a "discussion" forum.... get real.

And posting goodbye threads ranks right up there with the macro pics and the other stupid pictures.

Yeah there's idiots here ad there's useless flaming, but that's on every forum, and this one has less of them than average, and most discussions are fairly intelligent, at least if you choose to ignore certain elements.

A few have beaten me to the punch, but absolutely, some of the responses are indicative of the attitude that does prevail at Neowin! I also do not know you, but that should make no difference as we are all part of the same community! Good luck and perhaps we catch you sometime soon! Also as Giga said, one should not let the creeps that lurk here get to you!

1) I agree, neowin is now full of kids hiding behind monitors, who in the real world wouldn't stand up to ****, but on here feel it's acceptable to completely berate people and act like the hard man!

2) If you do not enjoy a place, leave - but I would suggest you make mods aware of the sentiment - they need to know the overall feelings on the forums when they turn sour.

3) But don't rub ego by making a thread about it. PM those you wish to stay in contact with. Then again, why the hell not!

I agree. We deal with stuff like this all of the time. The board is so big that sometimes we are unaware when a member has had a bad experience and we need to hear about it. Our goal is to provide an environment where everyone treats each other with courtesy.

Please return soon! (Y)

 personally, i'd like to see other forums as helpful and diverse as Neowin, but the reality is that Neowin is a great place, and like all other forums has its ups and downs, but by no means can i ever recall or say that this site as a whole is a joke in any way. And personally, i find that the majority of criticism and clashes are positive, and the amusing threads such as 'LOL catz' are pure class, and our willingness to use 'FAIL' tags on OP's just shows our true involvement, instead of a classic case of simply ignoring the thread/closing it :)

I've gotten the impression over the years that a few members try to drive away and silence others that they do not like or agree with.

Posts like 'why is this news ?', suggesting a topic is boring, and 'spam' comments go overboard sometimes.

Rather sad.

Probably more than half the threads on Neowin don't interest me personally, but I realize that I am not the whole world.

I try to respect other's interest, other points of view, and other people's opinions.

Most posters are probably just trying to share something they think is interesting or helpful.

Don't fault them for that.

Like or hate the topic -- but don't run down the member.

I have become immune to the criticism long ago, Joni -- perhaps you can too. ;)

    • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.

    • All versions is correct. The bug appears on any version of Windows with KB5094126 installed. It's a little insane to expect the author to explain that systems that can't possibly have that patch installed, will not experience the bug. If you have any gripe about the title, it would be that it doesn't mention the update at all, but I wouldn't agree with that either. A title is not expected to be a full summery of the article.
