The Avengers (may contain spoilers!)

Hmmm, Cap is wearing an older version of his costume when Thor is attacking him. Maybe it is a Skrull thing going on :D

I'm also still weirded out that Hawkeye is in it, when he hasn't had his own movie (or Black Widow for that matter). But they do have to round the Avenger's out I suppose. And what about the other members down the road, are they going to be added in sequels naturally or will it be forced (ugh) such as Ant-Man and/or Wasp etc?

Well, Black Widow and Hawkeye were both featured in Iron Man 2 and Thor (Respectively). So, they're not coming out of the blue. Not that I don't think they would be able to introduce someone new in this movie. There's really no difference in introducing them here or in one of the other movies...

It will be interesting to see though. It looks like it's going to be a decent movie. At least I hope it is...

Easy. Just use any big names in the Avengers (say Stark). Then you will connect the universes together.

The problem is much bigger than that. Marvel Studios does not technically have the rights to Spider-Man movies, Sony does. They have since the very first movie.

really? you must be a dc fanboy because this trailer blows tdkr out of the water. i think this will be one of the best movies next year. ill also say the hulk looks great although i will miss ed norton.

Im not a dc fanboy, Im a good movie fanboy. If you really think that this movie has the level of refinement of anything made by Nolan or Snyder then be my guest... I guess.

First class and Thor were good.

Come on man, Thor was like a dream come true for fat metal-head teens. In my city just looking at the movie lines you could swear Harry Potter turned goth and made a new movie about it.

Okay it might not be as good as you think I think but still 7.25 out of 10 for me, it is.

It was good except for the romance part between Portman and Hemsworth

It's the suit you see hanging behind the glass plus the one you see him wearing without his mask on. It's noticeable due to the mask, the flap on his chest the metal parts on the suit. It might be a shot of when they're testing a possible new shield made by Tony Stark.

Black Widow and Hawkeye both had cameos in previous movies. Perhaps they wanted to create a "oh, that's the guy from Thor who wass hanging in the basket" kinda effect.

@sanctified: It's all a matter of opinion really. Sure it's not the same as Nolan's adaption of Batman. Though that depends on what source material they use. Had Nolan used a different, more light hearted type of Batman comic, then his trilogy wouldn't have been as dark, etc.

Also, have we really reached a point to where we now have to compare each comic book adaption to Nolan's Batman Trilogy?

I believe I might've taken things out of context with Nolan. You weren't talking about him specifically, but about the difference between Iron Man and the movies that followed that movie. It really depends on what the director is capable of doing, not about Marvel. It's true that Thor and Captain America weren't as good as Iron Man. They where enjoyable though. The romance in Thor was just too cliché. but I guess that's what you get when you're adapting a comic book that's pretty dated.

But I wouldn't judge this movie by only the trailer. It only showed flashes of the movie. Flashes that can't really be used to judge the movie if you ask me.

Thats what Thor was always supposed to be like anyway, old fashioned norse mythology gone mad. I personally enjoyed it and I respect your personal opinion on the film.

I'm looking forward to Avengers, but I'm trying to not get too worked up over it.

Oh and where was Black Widow in Iron Man 2? I don't remember seeing her, but I did watch it a long while ago. I might put it on tonight to watch again

First class and Thor were good.

I watched Thor last weekend and CA this weekend. Thor was cheesy but watchable in the same way that fast-food is edible.

Captain America was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. The plot was tedious, full of holes, unbelievable, etc. It also felt like they'd bitten off more than they could chew and tried to cram too much into the story. Steve Rogers was boring.

First Class, it was decent, true. Thor and Captain America? Felt like 90's all over again

+1

IMO, the only great Marvel films were the first two X-Men films. Everything else has been pretty ordinary.

Me too, Avengers could be a big hit and it may battle The Dark Knight Rises since both are gonna release within a period of one month.

Black Widow's character was rather briefly shown in Iron Man 2. She appeared mostly in the last half an hour or so.

I have a lot of faith in this movie simply because it's being directed by Joss Whedon. I loved Firefly and absolutely loved Serenity. And from what I've seen of The Avengers so far, it looks like it'll be amazing. I look forward to seeing Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the Incredible Hulk all fighting together in one movie.

    • Carol, Windows XP is still being used today only in a small capacity. It is still the best OS there is due to its backwards compatibility with other older software, the customization features, and friendly UI, and people often feel that upgrading to newer OSes is cost prohibitive in specialized Industries or developing countries, so the market share as of now is around 0.2%-0.3%
    • If I could, I would commemorate it the best way possible: Replacing old machines that are still running Windows XP with something more modern, stable and better.     Noone and nothing should be running Windows XP in 2026.
    • Google's new hand-wave reCAPTCHA can be bypassed with a stock photo by Ivan Jenic Image: Screenshot Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA method that asks you to wave at your camera to prove you're human. So, besides solving puzzles and reading distorted text, you can now use your computer’s camera to pass the verification test. When the hand gesture verification is triggered, your browser asks for camera access and prompts you to perform a simple gesture, like a wave or an open palm. Google says it records a short video of the movement and uses AI to extract 21 hand-knuckle coordinates to complete the verification process. The video is then immediately deleted, and Google swears it doesn't keep it. The process alone can be uncomfortable for people who wouldn’t want their biometric data, which hand scans technically qualify as, recorded. But it gets even more nuanced, as early testers discovered that the new hand-waving reCAPTCHA can be passed with a simple stock image. A user on X tested the new challenge using a stock image of a hand fed through OBS Virtual Camera, and it passed. I wanted to verify it, so I tried the same thing. It took me a few tries and a few stock images, but in the end, I was also able to pass the test. I simply had to readjust the stock image of a generic person waving inside OBS, and Google’s mechanism registered it as a legitimate hand gesture. Once again, it didn’t even have to be a video or an AI-generated hand animation. Given the simplicity of the process, the entire action can be automated in minutes. All it takes is a simple Python script to render the new reCAPTCHA method obsolete. And it doesn’t even have to be an AI bot, which is usually used for solving puzzles and other verification methods. The new reCAPTCHA method is still in its early phase, and Google will, hopefully, update its AI to at least reject still images. However, this incident, combined with users’ initial skepticism about Google’s practices regarding user data, likely won’t make too many people wave at the camera anytime soon.
