The Avengers (may contain spoilers!)

That trailer is far better than the American one.

I am guessing the run time will be somewhere between 120-180 minutes.

And the part, where they'll fight each other, in the beginning would be great.

Can't wait to see how'd they put it up (Y)

Most studios hold pre-release preview just for reviewers a week or so before release. If they know there 's going to be trouble they'll either give no preview or embargo the reviews until just before or the day of the release.

Marvel Studios must be confident that Avengers will do well because even though it opens May 4th, it will have ia full-bore Red Carpet premiere on April 11 at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood - over 3 weeks before release. This indicates they're confident of good word of mouth.

We finally see a mechanized version of The Midgard Serpent (Jormungand) in the Japanese trailer. Although it isn't in English, it's still worth watching for the new scenes.

AWESOME!!!

"What are we - a team?

Naw - we're a time bomb..."

:D

More like a thermonuclear time bomb with the Hulk. I wonder why he's fighting alongside them. Is the Hulk doing it out of a sense of self-preservation?

Other than Avengers & Marvel canon showing Hulk/Banner with enough control to cross-function, in the Incredible Hulk films ending sequence it shows Banner using meditation to exercise control over his 'problem' - even smiling across the 'fourth wall' at the audience with his eyes going green.

From the Marvel site -

For a short time, Banner successfully treated his condition with radiation and was able to maintain enough of his own personality when he became the Hulk to control himself in that form. Subsequently, he earned the government's favor by destroying the alien Metal Master and received a presidential pardon.

Friends and Foes

A founding member of the Avengers. Not long after Hulk was baited into a trap by the Asgardian trickster, Loki, into destroying a train trestle. This would lead to the first instance where Hulk became a team player. Beside the occasional group endeavors, Hulk has teamed-up with many others that didn't think he was so bad. Spider-Man, Power Man and Iron Fist have partnered with Hulk on several occasions. Even brutes like the Thing and scrappers like Wolverine identified with Hulk and have allied with him almost as many times as they've fought against him. Not only has Hulk befriended those in the super-hero community, but he has managed to form bonds with regular people such as "Crackajack" Jackson and Jim Wilson.

I REALLY want to like these trailers and believe the hype. But I just cant. I see the trailer, with it's explosions and the slo-mo walking and trite dialogue and all I can think it's cliche, a bombastic fun cliche perhaps, but nothing that will change super hero movies as TDK did.

Of course it won't.

There are different classes. Batman under Nolan is another class, and Avengers is another class.

Though this time, I think Avengers is much, much more than your average superhero movie

It's not meant to be TDK. It's a "Marvel summer blockbuster"... It's meant to be bombastic, fun, silly and in-your-face. Not every film has to be a work of art, some are just fun.

The thing about Bats is that he isn 't super - he's all too human but with 'all those wonderful toys.'

yeah you could say the same about Iron Man though, I like Bats but I prefer Marvel Universe a hell alot more

Cant art be fun? It's TDK not fun?

    • For a guy who claims to hate Farage and the ignorant, gullible, rightwing racist skinheads sponsored by Putin that his lies represent, you sure are quoting them time and time and time again, mate. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
    • Do you live in the U.K? Do any of the people here that are against the UK leaving the E.U, live in the U.K? If not then why are you bothered? If you do live here then it is a different thing . Brexit was a good idea, should have done it years before, it was done badly, but the idea was good. You are saying the same thing as remainers do, oh we did what Putin wanted, we listened to the lies and Farage. I hate Farage and never believed most of what he said, certainly did not believe the £350m a week for the NHS. But we did pay a lot of money to the E.U and yes some of it came back, but what is the point of paying it out for only some of it to come back? Get out of the E.U, no money to them and in theory we can use the money to do things in the country. I said in theory, but our governments are a total and complete waste of space. No matter what colour rosette they wear. You and others say it was a mistake and yet the two main parties in the U.K are not looking at rejoining the EU, I wonder why that is? I was not tricked by anyone. Makes no odds now, we are out and have been for 10 years, what we need is a decent government to run the country. All they do is shout at each other like a load of kids and seems to do nothing and make this country more into a police and nanny state. Getting more like China all the time.

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
