(put it in code so noone sees the preview image)

Should have just called it:

Thor: Captain America and maybe some Avengers

Iron Man and Hulk really nailed this film but they were pushed aside for Thor and Captain America, this was basically their movie using the bad guy from Thor and the plot device from Captain America.

Dissappointed, though Iron Man 3 is going to be epic.

Here's the current top in midnight openings..

1: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - $43.5 million

2: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - $30 million

3: The Twilight Saga: New Moon - $26.3 million

4: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - $24 million

5: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - $22.2 million

6: The Avengers - $20 million

7: The Dark Knight - $18.5 million

8: The Hangover Part II - $10.4 million

Going to see it tomorrow in 3D at 10 AM, that is how old people roll.

So officially staying out of this thread until then.

ditto... going tomorrow around 4pm (cheaper showing) after a bite of lunch at a nice place then hit up a few drinks later. I'm expecting worlds from this movie and then some!!!

I do know to stay after credits roll for extra scene already so all set to hold my pis2 in for a few more mins longer.

I guess it's because Iron Man has 2 movies and so does Hulk. I think they NEEDED Thor's and Captain America's plot and story to connect the movies. I think they did a superb job with giving fair share. I felt there was a lot of Hulk which was great and same with Iron Man

no problem spoilers are tagged like this

Gotcha I'll refer to that if I happen to brain fart. Since everything lately has been a blur lol I think I may go see it about 3 more times if I can LOL

I just got back from it.. it was LEGENAWESOMEDARY.

What movie previews were before the avengers? went last night but the theater computer crashed, 45 mins late they start the movie and skip all previews so im wondering what i missed...

Well my viewing got, Prometheus, The Amazing Spiderman, The Dark Knight Rises, Frankenweenie, and Brave.

Really was damn good. Will say also wonder what movie the member was watching that said might as well call it Thor-Captain America, I really thought they did a fantastic job of giving pretty much equal billing to all involved. And yeah, this was the Hulk done right. In fact I can

very easily say I enjoyed Hulk more than everyone else. He was kick ass.

One thing I will say, I saw it in 3D, and there was no real need to at all. The 3D was incredibly subtle, so subtle in fact it was barely there. So it was not necessary at all IMO to see it in 3D.

But yeah, exactly what I expected, a blockbuster summer film, but truly entertaining and done with pretty much the utmost of respect to the source material.

I do have to question why not give Hawkeye his actual costume?

That is the Hawkeye I know. I also know purple is not the manliest of colors, but I still think they should have made it as close as possible to the actual original costume.

I'd say they made the right decision on the costume. I wouldn't want him to be running around with the brightest colours in the film's colour pallete. A bit too flashy. Btw, did you end up catching the two extra scenes after the credits?

I thought Thor was my favourite character in this movie... and I'd never seen the Thor movie before, so I was pleasantly surprised. I went in assuming Iron Man would be my favourite.

Anyway, so I bought Thor and watched it afterwards... was pretty disappointed... the laziest Marvel film I've seen! It's rubbish compared to The Avengers.

Well Iron Man

pretty much saved the day

in the movie so.. :\.

Yeah I do not think the colors as they are would work either, but mute them some or something along those lines. Like this...

Or at the very least come up with a modern version of his mask.

He just looks like random solider as he currently is, just does not seem to be an Avenger the way he is dressed now.

    • For a guy who claims to hate Farage and the ignorant, gullible, rightwing racist skinheads sponsored by Putin that his lies represent, you sure are quoting them time and time and time again, mate. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
    • Do you live in the U.K? Do any of the people here that are against the UK leaving the E.U, live in the U.K? If not then why are you bothered? If you do live here then it is a different thing . Brexit was a good idea, should have done it years before, it was done badly, but the idea was good. You are saying the same thing as remainers do, oh we did what Putin wanted, we listened to the lies and Farage. I hate Farage and never believed most of what he said, certainly did not believe the £350m a week for the NHS. But we did pay a lot of money to the E.U and yes some of it came back, but what is the point of paying it out for only some of it to come back? Get out of the E.U, no money to them and in theory we can use the money to do things in the country. I said in theory, but our governments are a total and complete waste of space. No matter what colour rosette they wear. You and others say it was a mistake and yet the two main parties in the U.K are not looking at rejoining the EU, I wonder why that is? I was not tricked by anyone. Makes no odds now, we are out and have been for 10 years, what we need is a decent government to run the country. All they do is shout at each other like a load of kids and seems to do nothing and make this country more into a police and nanny state. Getting more like China all the time.

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
