Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Recommended Posts

I'm not a big racing fan but this one has my interest. I'm going to wait for the reviews to come out, but this is a buy if its anywhere north of an 8. Being able to race around my hometown in a game made by rockstar is all I really need to get into it.

So, finally got this in my rental queue yesterday, and I couldn't be more disappointed.

The controller layout sucks, but that could be fixed with one simple patch.

The game is highly disjointed, there's little continuity, and you don't feel like you're evolving through the game.

There's no sense of speed. According to the spedometer, as soon as I get through the first intersection I'm going over 50 mph, but it feels like about half that, meaning you feel like the car peaks at about 70.

It seems like Rockstar paid much much more attention to the storyline and the city design (which is pretty good) than to the actual racing aspect.

I enjoyed MC3:Dub Edition so much more. I'm gonna snag as many trophies as I can before sending it back this week, and happily go back to Burnout.

I didn't much like the soundtrack save a few songs, but that's a complete personal opinion thing. Wish they would've added custom soundtracks to the ps3 version.

i personally love the sound track, but that's just opinion like you said. The game is pheonomal though, i love my skyline :)

Pssh, you just got it for the trophies, trophy ######! :p

Well, duh.

Actually, I played the crap out of Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, and R* San Diego is one of the companies I'd like to apply to, so I was looking forward to this one.

Judge all ye like, trophy slag.

Actually, I'm liking this a bit more as I go along. Still prefer Burnout, and Burnout would pwn this if it had a race restart instead of having to drive across town every time you lose, but MC:LA is growing on me a bit.

If cars are paid DLC, however, I'll be semi-****ed, because it's stupid to do that, but I won't care as much since I'll be long done with the game.

Just bought this today. I turned off the camera shake because it was making me sick, but it's pretty good. Better than any recent free world Need for Speed and, thankfully, unlike Burnout, has markers so I don't get lost for every race.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
