This simplistic skin for Windows Media Player 9 is based of off gigatexel's Classix

Visual Style for Windows XP and now comes in 9 color's to complete the Classix feel.

Unlike most Windows Media Player skin's, this one does not use regular visualizations,

it has 7 basic bars and waves style visualizations that are much faster than the standard

visualizations and match beautifully with the rest of the Classix Suite. Visualizations can be

changed by clicking the display. This skin also supports Video Playback and a playlist.

Special thanks goes out to derondantzler for the Blue, Brown, Grey and Black 2 color schemes.

You are god. Simple as that. My only problem is I dont like that when you resize it changes the images vertical and horizontal dimensions based on where you drag. Could you make it like the default skin where it leaves black on the sides or bottom so that it keeps its dimensions except larger? :huh:

Is it possible to force video to retain it's correct ratio when it's in Skin mode? I've been looking through the coding and I can't tell, I can't find any documentation on it either. I want to avoid things like this:

Distorted.png

I'm guessing it's somewhere in here but I just can't see it:

function StartPlaying()
{

    if (player.currentMedia.ImageSourceWidth == 0)
    {

        bigvis.visible =true;
        video.visible =false;
        wmlogo.visible =false;

    }
    else
    {
        bigvis.visible = false;
        video.visible = true;
        wmlogo.visible = false;

        if ((!g_fUserHasSized && mediacenter.videoStretchToFit) || !mediacenter.videoStretchToFit)
        {

            var zoom = mediacenter.videoStretchToFit ? 100 : mediacenter.videoZoom;

            var x = (player.currentMedia.imageSourceWidth * (zoom / 100.0));
            if (x < 320)
            {

                x = 320;

            }
            var y = (player.currentMedia.imageSourceHeight * (zoom / 100.0));

            g_fExpectingSizeChange = true;
            view.width = x + 8;
            view.height = y + constMinHeight;
            g_fExpectingSizeChange = false;
 	 SizeChange();

        }
  else
  {

 	 if (view.height == constMinHeight)
 	 {

    view.width = player.currentMedia.imageSourceWidth + 8;
    view.height = player.currentMedia.imageSourceHeight + constMinHeight;
    SizeChange();

 	 }

  }

    }

	videoVis = video.visible;
	efectVis = bigvis.visible;

    UpdateMetadata();

}

Open the .wms file within the skin and modify the video area to looks like the following:

  Quote
<wmpVideo

zindex="3"

id="video"

top="0"

left="5"

width="jscript:work_view.width-10"

height="jscript:work_view.height-14"

visible="true"

maintainAspectRatio="false" {{Change this to "true"}}

StretchToFit="true" {{Change this to "false}}"

/>

There is a reason for that and you will find out why when you apply the changes I stated above.

Im sure I can make the skin more "perfect", but I don't have the time and I dont think that is such a big deal because you can simply resize the window to display the video at the proper aspect. ;)

(For those of you who are wondering, the blank area around the window will display the visualzation which makes the skin look very sloppy). :happy:

    • Dell's Tower Plus Windows 11 desktop brings good all round performance at a big discount by Paul Hill Are you looking for a powerful tower desktop PC? If so, Dell’s Tower Plus EBT2250 is available for $1,099.99 right now, discounted down 25% from its typical price of $1,460.64, making it its lowest price in 30 days, and indeed, of all time (purchase link towards the bottom of the article). It’s powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. It also features an NPU which achieves 13 TOPs, but it is not a Copilot+ PC which demand 40 TOPs. Nonetheless, Dell also claimed a 26% performance boost in multi-core applications compared to the previous generation XPS Desktop. It also comes with a 1TB NVMe SSD for speedy boots and app launches and there is 1x 16GB DDR5-5200 RAM which should help to cut through all of your tasks, though, it may not be enough for very demanding tasks. Dell has made this tower PC with upgrades in mind with available memory, storage, and expansion slots. It also features a new thermal design with 120mm fan, and the company claims this makes it up to 22% quieter while maintaining cooling performance. Here's more about the expansion options: The system supports dual 4K monitors through an HDMI 2.0 port and a Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port. It also has a built-in media card reader for quick import of RAW images. Another nice feature with this tower is that it’s equipped with Wi-Fi 7, which promises “4.8x faster throughput, lower latency and greater capacity” for seamless online experiences. This Dell comes with Windows 11 Home and 6-months of Dell Migrate to help users move files and settings to their new computer. If you are interested in this deal, check out the buying link below. • The first stars in the universe may have been much smaller than we thought, new research hints — possibly explaining why it's so hard to find evidence they ever existed. According to the new research, the earliest generation of stars had a difficult history. These stars came to be in a violent environment: inside a huge gas cloud whipping with supersonic-speed turbulence at velocities five times the speed of sound (as measured in Earth's atmosphere). A simulation underpinning the new research also showed gases clustering into lumps and bumps that appeared to herald a coming starbirth. The cloud broke apart, creating pieces from which clusters of stars seemed poised to emerge. One gas cloud eventually settled into the right conditions to form a star eight times the mass of our sun — much smaller than the 100-solar-mass behemoths researchers previously imagined in our early universe. "With the presence of supersonic turbulence, the cloud becomes fragmented into multiple smaller clumps, leading to the formation of several less massive stars instead," principal researcher Ke-Jung Chen, a research fellow at the Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Taiwan https://www.livescience.com/space/astronomy/scientists-may-finally-know-why-the-first-stars-in-the-universe-left-no-trace
    • No, it's probably not the de-specialized edition, but Disney could surprise the 'Star Wars' faithful when the rerelease drops in theaters in 2027. It might not be the big anime-style birthday remake some "Star Wars" acolytes were hoping for, but "Star Wars: A New Hope" will be blasting back into movie theaters to celebrate its landmark 50th anniversary starting in April of 2027. The sprawling space opera is set to hit the silver screen again with a special limited-edition theatrical run beginning on April 30, 2027, and aptly running through the official Star Wars Day holiday on May the 4th. This will be the planet-wide event too, so international Star Wars fans won't miss out. There is a sliver of hope for purist fans that perhaps Disney might pull out an untouched archival print — the original version of the sci-fi sensation that first hit theaters on May 25, 1977 — but it's unlikely that Disney would risk upsetting creator George Lucas. Instead, we'd expect a freshened-up 1997 20th anniversary print to be the star attraction. https://www.space.com/entertainment/space-movies-shows/star-wars-a-new-hope-will-return-to-theaters-to-celebrate-its-50th-anniversary-but-disney-didnt-say-which-version
