Seems like you lot are ok, we have about 10"! Lemme grab a pic....and yes at the bottom of the 2nd shot is my car buried in snow :o

Hasn't the London council ever heard of gritters before? lol :p

Good luck going to work dude, I wouldn't wanna be walking out in snow that deep!

Yup, we're snowed in too here in East London. I work in a school and it's been closed. So day off! Woo Hoo! I wouldn't have been able to get in anyway. I just stepped outside and my feet completely disappeared in the blanket. My daughter is loving it!

was up london last night!

Was around 8pm went to charring cross only to find a train had broken down and signal failes, massive back log. Half the stuff was delayed/cancelled. They addviced everyone to go to Victoria, so we did. We got there checked the board and literally, it in front of out eyes stuff chaged to delayed/cancelled.

So we where like wow wtf, ended up getting some train that wa sment to leave ages ago, it had to keep stopping etc. Arrived at bromley south well late, only to find busses where going dam slow, crashing, skidding, and not getting up a small hill (double deckers) Even the nippy smaller ones where having problems! I ended up walking my friend home for a while, making sure she was safe, then i walked home. Got in well late as well!!!!

Well Kings Hill is not as bad as London with respect to snow.

Yet again I see the south-east comes to a standstill over an inch of the white stuff.

I'll get some pictures for you all soon, after I contact my childrens school.

Its more like 5+ inches, some areas its near knee deep

me too I don't think it's gonna happen, I have to change so many times I would take me like 2 hours....

I've just spent the last 20 minutes attempting to move our car and that's not happening, and the only alternative is a 20 minute walk to the station, which I certainly don't fancy :p.

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
