Why is snow on the news every where, it's pathetic, it's just snow! Sure lots of places have it bad but comon it's plastered all over the news here like something major happend :| On another note can't wait til it gets heavier so I don't have to go anywhere.

Slow news day; this is the worst it's hit the UK in 18 years and we aren't prepared for it. Plus the added affect of "snow days" from work being declared has on the economy is negative (a load of stocks where sold this morning due to worry how the snow will affect the prices).

Considering the size of our balcony, this is the size of the snowman we just made. We have more snow left on the balcony AND its now starting to snow REAL strong again (SW London)... No work again tomorrow hopefully :D:

This we made last night, with the little snow we had:

And this we made today with the DEEP snow we had :D. More of a snow bear than a snow man :

I just read this on the Washington Post:

Heavy Snow Brings London to a Stop

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...9020201151.html

I wish you people the best of luck and safety...I know its a miserable situation.

Miserable? Its ****ing GREAT mate! With all the news we hear all the time about the econimy etc, this diverts our attention and in a lot of cases, gives us a free day (maybe 2) off work!

Was only a light sprinkling here through the morning but it's really starting to come down this afternoon/evening.. hope it's appalling tomorrow so I don't have to go into work. They already sent everyone home early from work today.. so if it's the same tomorrow morning, surely we won't have to go in!

lol

only in the UK

the rest of europe can easily deal with this kinda snow, but the UK for some reason cant!

for example! if more than 2" of snow is expected, the salt pouring trucks come out late at night, and in the morning a quick sweep is done of major roads.....

ah well, then again i cant remember the last time is snowed in the UK :s

Whats wrong with that? Nothing is more hardcore than braving 2" of snow without any gritting or plowing eh. The roads around my way were like glass when I woke up this morning. Cars wheels spinning but going nowhere. If anything there wasn't enough done. After all, didn't we know about this snow at the start of LAST week?
