Iron Man 2 release date 7th May 2010

Mad Men's John Slattery plays Tony Stark's dad Howard, and he says he just appears in flashbacks. But those flashbacks may actually become important in other upcoming Marvel movies, most notably The Avengers, Slattery hints. (Remember Captain America's shield on Tony's workbench? Am I on crack, or was there some talk of Howard having developed it for Cap back in the day?) [Sci Fi Wire]

Marvel's Kevin Feige says the new movie is much more Jim Rhodes-centric, not least because it introduces War Machine. And the film's climactic fight scene is bigger and more spectacular than the first movie. Also, Nick Fury may not bust out the big fighting moves yet, but he is the conduit by which all the superheroic characters (including the Avengers) connect up. [IESB]

Favreau Confirms Iron Man 3!

MoviesOnline caught up with Jon Favreau who revealed the latest on the upcoming ?The Avengers? movie and ?Iron Man 3.?

The director, who is currently shooting ?Iron Man 2? said that the trilogy may be completed before ?The Avengers? goes i

?There?s an Iron Man 3. Here?s how I know. When they make the option deals, they include Iron Man 3. So I know they?re planning on 3. Whether that would be before or after Avengers, they?ve announced that Avengers is next but they pushed back The Avengers once, which I thought was encouraging,? he said.encouraging,? he said.

The on-screen teaming of Marvel Comics characters such as ?Iron Man,? ?Thor? and ?Captain America? will also reportedly depend upon production of upcoming films based on individual projects directed by Kenneth Branagh and Joe Johnston.

A few months ago we reported that Marvel rescheduled the release dates of some of its self-produ

?My involvement has yet to be determined on that project. You?re not going to know about Thor for two years, what that really means. And Captain America, they haven?t even started prepping yet. So there?s a lot of discovery that has to take place before you can understand what Avengers really is,? Favreau added.stand what Avengers really is,? Favreau added.

Out of all the movies coming up in the next year, Iron Man 2 is one (of a few) that I don't think really needs a viral to build any buzz. But then again, anything set in the Marvel Universe has a lot of good viral potential, so why not? Marvel made an announcement today on their website about Stark Industries accepting job applications. All you need to do is visit this site: starkindustriesnow.com and click on the "Join Stark Industries" button. There's not too much more found there (yet), except an amusing press release written by Tony Stark on his drink napkin. "Pepper, please post exactly as is!" Oh that Tony Stark!

Who knows if anything else will be added to that site over the next few months, but I can say I'm honestly excited for this viral to really take off. As I mentioned, the Marvel Universe (or in this case, the Iron Man universe) has a lot of depth to it that can be used to create a good viral ARG. The only thing is that I doubt this is being run by 42 Entertainment, the only truly amazing viral company out there (who did the Tron Legacy viral at Comic-Con). Anyway. if you think you've got what it takes to become an employee of Stark Industries, we suggest you sign up and keep us informed on the inner workings of Mr. Stark's corporation.

    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
    • On my music making (non internet) PC Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Adobe Audition 2015 Korg Legacy Collection Windows 7 SP1
    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
