Iron Man 2 release date 7th May 2010

^That War Machine image is indeed fan made. The one .Kompressor posted is from the original artist who made the suits designs for the 1st movie. I saw it on his website which I've posted either in this thread, or the thread for Iron Man 1. The image was made as a test image or something.

As we reported a while back, there's going to be some major conflict between Rhodey and Tony in the second movie. Actor Don Cheadle explains:

We kept asking ourselves: How does that play out with Tony Stark being an independent contractor doing what he wants to do, and Rhodes actually being in the military? There's a real chain of command he has to follow. What's the conflict that creates?

And it sounds as though this difference in their outlooks plays into the military's desire to take control of the "Iron Man weapon." [MTV via Comic Book Resources]

Scarlett Johansson describes her character, Black Widow:

I think the character is a shape-shifter so it was kind of like playing two different characters. One character is more mysterious and ? I don't want to say submissive but she's kind of blending in with the crowd, I suppose you could say. The other part of this character is someone who knows their **** and is able to say, "I'm going to fight this head on."b>

We all know by now that the first officially released photo of Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in Iron Man 2 is probably only the villain?s Mark I suit. At Comic-Con, we got a chance to see Rourke in action at the racetrack, but nothing more than that. What will the big screen version of Whiplash really look like?

Marko Djurdjevic created a new concept design for the Whiplash character for the upcoming Marvel Comics four issue miniseries Iron Man vs. Whiplash. Marvel.com has released the first image of the new character design. For a larger look at Whiplash?s new design, hit the jump. Could this design hint at what we might possibly expect on the big screen come May 2010?

Scarlett Johansson hints her character, the Black Widow, could be back in the Avengers movie ? and could possibly have her own spin-off film as well, if the fans take to her skintight catsuit. Supposedly ScarJo is signed for several movies. [IOL via ComicBookMovie via Comic Book Resources]

Well, at one time they had a Black Widow movie in the pipeline, and it actually had a writer attached. I'm not sure if anything ever got written... But I was always excited about this one, because if done right, this could be a really good movie.

hmmm.. I think it is possible that we could see that design.

I want to see lesbian action between scarjo and gwen paltrow in Iron Man 2 but that will never happen. :shifty: :(

You could always picture it in your head because then it will always happen! :p

We already linked to Kevin Feige's interview with Comic Book Resources where he talks about the Avengers, but there's also a bit where he said the climax to the second Iron Man movie will be a bit more spectacular and large-scale than the first one was. "On the highway and the rooftop in the last movie was great and the connection between Jeff [bridges] and Robert was great but we wanted to give it a little more spectacle this time around for the finale." [Comic Book Resources]

As we've mentioned, Sam Rockwell's character, Justin Hammer, is actually a fan of Tony Stark, but doesn't get the attention he craves from Tony. But Rockwell tells Comic Book Resources that Hammer is also "in cahoots with a couple of people," and "kind of a shyster." And when Hammer feels deprived of Tony's attention, "that's where I think it starts to go wrong for Justin a little bit." He also says that Hammer is more insecure and ambitious than Tony Stark, which may be his downfall. [Comic Book Resources]

Stuntman Garrett Warren stands in for Mickey Rourke, and he describes how the "double whips" (one in each hand) will look in the finished product:

I don't know if I'm at liberty to say what the whips will look like, but they're going to be these super whips that have an awful lot of power. They can cut through cars, they can do an awful lot of damage. And when the movie comes out, you'll see that he doesn't do just whip-cracks and grabbing people. He lays waste to an awful lot of vehicles and street pieces and other things.... At one point, Whiplash had to get hit by a car, and Mickey did the lead up to the stunt, and I did the stunt where the car came in and hit me and took me to the fence.

And he says the Whiplash armor is uncomfortable because there's one big metal piece, and also that Whiplash is shirtless (the whole time, by the sound of things) with his whole body covered in metal rods. [Movieline via Cinemablend]

Iron Man 2 to Come at You in 3D?

Ain't It Cool News is reporting the rumor that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios are considering releasing Iron Man 2 in 3D format, and possibly the first Iron Man as well. Here's an except from the article:

Right now, there is a 1 minute demo of IRON MAN 2 converted to high quality digital 3D. I'm told this one minute is totally like Kim Basinger & Mickey Rourke in 9 1/2 WEEKS. HOT! Crazy Hot! Right now the Suits at Marvel & Paramount & now also Disney are considering this 1 minute.

At the same time that this is happening, they are fishing for bids with 3 different companies to see what the cost and time it would take to convert IRON MAN 2 to a complete 3D film. This same process is being done to Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND - but if this comes to pass. What will this mean for the rest of Marvel's slate leading to THE AVENGERS? Will THOR & CAPTAIN AMERICA also go through this process? Or will they be shot from the get go in 3D.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
