Sam Rockwell says his character, Justin Hammer, is sort of like Lex Luthor (the Hackman and Spacey versions) mixed with Bill Murray in Kingpin and Richard Gere in American Gigolo. And in case we didn't cover this before, Rockwell also says his character is the one who builds Rhodey's War Machine armor, and Rhodey has no choice but to work with Hammer. But Rhodey doesn't let Hammer try the armor on. [MTV]

Moviefone chatted with Faran Tahir, who played Raza in Iron Man, about possibly returning for the third installment:

Every interview asks if you'll be in 'Iron Man 3.' If that role gets confirmed, what will be better: the fact that you're in it or that you'll never again be asked if you're in it?

[Laughs] I think I'd welcome both of those. I'm happy to keep answering the question. Jon Favreau and [the producers] are not stupid. They're also listening in on all of this and wanting to get the pulse of where the audience is. But at some point, they want to introduce Mandarin into the storyline and my character, like Mandarin, was the leader of the Ten Rings. We're leaving it open because, partly, it makes good business sense for us to leave a little bit of uncertainty for people to speculate on.

Has Jon even thought about 'Iron Man 3' or is he just focused on the sequel?

He has known for a long time where he wants to take it and I don't want to speak for him, but my feeling is that the second movie didn't want to just follow a singular storyline. They wanted to expand the characters to show that it's not a linear saga like 'Lord of the Rings.' There's a linkage somewhere in there, but the big idea is to do at least one more 'Iron Man' movie and then go into 'The Avengers.'

You can check out the full interview here.

Crap

They should have got Terrence Howard back.

I hate it when films change actors, it spoils the continuity.

Just like Dark night, they had the ugly flat face, swamp donkey, tree pig Maggie Gyllenhaal, instead of Katie Holmes (who is equally annoying).

They spoilt all the other batman films changing the main characters but tbh they were all poorly written and directed.

But i still want a Iron Man armor as its ****ing wicked!! :woot:

I dislike changing actors too but I'll hold my comments until I see it. While Katie was certainly easier on the eyes she sucked as an actress, Maggie was better.

I hope they bring Raza into the 3rd. I was hoping to see him again in #2 but clearly forgot :D He's gotta amount to something all that character building in the first can't go to waste.

Question, why does the Iron Man 2 suit have a triangle part and not a circle one in the centre of the suit? :s

He has a triangle on his chest in the comicbooks

Iron Man 2?s War Machine Sort Of Revealedb>

Typically, the likeness of a movie star face when sculpted into the dinky wee visage of an action figure is pretty darn poor. For one thing, the figure manufacturers might not have been granted the rights to use the actor?s face and for another, most of these things seem to be badly designed and very badly built.

Surprisingly, this toy version of Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2?s War Machine get up pretty much knocked me over backwards and right into the uncanny valley with its vivid likeness. To be fair, it is an overpriced figure in a ?Don?t touch that!? line for kids who never grew up, not an actual, honest to goodness, down in the dirt candidate for Andy?s Room so perhaps standards have to be higher. I don?t really know - I don?t really know anything much about action figures.

After the break, the full scan which includes his ?Armor Assembly Station? and cute little blurb.

Kudos to Rich at awesome comics site Bleeding Cool for getting these scans from the Diamond comics catalogue. Diamond did the blacking out, not Rich.

That poster is just gorgeous, I had to bring it over to the next page :) Whoever does the promotional art for Iron Man does an amazing job. The posters for the first were very similar. Mostly just shots of Iron Man. It's pretty obvious what the movie is for, no needs to fill it with actor's names and photos of them. Loving the new suits, while its similar, its definitely better. War Machine looks badass too, can't wait to see this movie. May can't come any sooner.

More interesting bits came from the Twitter account of Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada today. First of all, he's already seen Iron Man 2... yup!

Back in LA and just saw a rough cut of Iron Man 2. I worship before the alter of the mighty Favreau, he is da man!

And just minutes later he posted the following on The First Avenger: Captain America...

Did I forget to mention an AMAZING Cap script meeting? Actually I did. I work here and these movies can't come out fast enough for me.

Which raises the question, how can we be Joe Quesada for a day? Perhaps he should hold a contest. Hey, schools let students be principal for a day sometimes, right?!

    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
    • On my music making (non internet) PC Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Adobe Audition 2015 Korg Legacy Collection Windows 7 SP1
    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
