Credit Scene Revealed!

Before I tell you what happens in the easter egg scene, I must spoil a small plot point from the actual film.

Two thirds of the way into Iron Man 2, SHIELD Agent Coulson (played again by Clark Gregg) gets orders to leave Tony Stark and is reassigned to a situation in New Mexico. That?s it. Not much more. In the film the moment goes by without it even meaning anything.

Cut to the credits.

After the credits conclude, we see a black car pushing up dirt as it zooms through the desert. We are even given a close-up of the New Mexico license plate of the car so that we know it is New Mexico. The license plate reads 8RE 2Z1. I?m not sure if there is an inside joke or easter egg in those numbers and letters. Probably not.

A man exists the vehicle, and it cuts to a wide show of a huge crater in the earth.

We see that the man is? not Tony Stark ? but Agent Coulson.

He looks down at the inside of the big hole, which has been revealed to contain cars and workers working on something.

Coulson picks up his cellphone and tells the person on the other end ?Sir, we?ve found it.?

Cut to a shot from inside the giant crater, and we push back to reveal the hammer of Thor sticking out of the ground.

really? that's it? they really could do better than that.

Iron Man 2 is also going to be premiered in IMAX!!!! I'm pumped for this one to come out. Is the suit that Rhodey wears the War Machine suit? I've not really gotten into who is what as far as marvel heroes go, but his suit looks much more awesome than Tony Stark's.

Originally my local IMax (ThinkPoint, Birmingham) weren't gonna show it - however, I noticed this morning they've cancelled all the performances of How to Train your Dragon, and Alice in Wonderland, and replaced 'em with Iron Man. Which is awesome :)

I quite like that, it's subtle, like the Captain America reference in the first film.

it'd be more epic if

the camera lifted and we see the back of Thor .. pretty much showing the Sillouette and then he brings the hammer down to his knees. The camera focuses on the hammer then cut to black

true but they dont want to show any of Thor yet until May 5th when the first shots are released so teasing the hammer is the best way of doing it plus they want some surprise

no but it'd be the back of Thor.. and he is covered in shadow so you will only see the sillouette of him from behind. People then will say holy ****, it's Thor. Heck, Nick Fury wasn't really a tease anyway at the end of Iron Man if you put it that way.

lol.. Iron Man suits for Kids eh? lol.

He's wearing one of the toy Iron Man helmets and a toy repulsor.

Helmet

Repulsor Glove

I assume that in the movie world, there would be toys just as in the real world.

I watched the movie last night ( I live in France and the movie was released n wednesday ) and I must say that I enjoyed every part of the movie. The movie is not perfect because I felt it was too short; Favreau could have easily done a movie clocking at 140 minutes with all the material he had at hand.

Overall impression :

Very good movie for what it is ( a superhero/action flick ). Is it better thatn the first one ? I don't think so because the first Iron Man was already a very good movie and the seecond episode is at the same level if not a bit above.

That's my 2 cents.

P.S. : The Ex-wife of Rhodey is awesome ;)

Nice catch with the kid road, I never saw that preview before :)

No problem. The funny thing is that this one aired on Nickelodeon about 4 more times (along with a couple of others) within an hour of me posting it! There was one other spot that I hadn't seen before, but I missed it with the DVR.

Just got back from seeing it in IMAX. Loved it. So so good! Glad the scene after the credits was included, even though it's not officially released until tomorrow in the UK (advance showing ftw).

Bittersweet seeing DJ AM in, but his part was cool.

Need to see it again! :D

End credits is a tease showing Thor would give away to much. I think they nailed it. Nice catch with the kid road, I never saw that preview before :)

yeah might as well have Thor sitting in a chair waving at the audience :p

One thing I still fail to understand (given that this movie is by an American company, and produced here), is why it opened over a week earlier in other countries than here in the US? I haven't even been able to find a statement from the producers as to why they did that. Anyone here have a clue?

What makes that even worse is that there hasn't even been a (real) leaked copy of it floating around yet LOL! :pirate:
