Darn time limit rule for post editing :(

was just changin up my theme for this month and i finally found a sweet spot but i guess i gotta post again.

post-254472-1225783187_thumb.png

Mist icons would be perfect but i can't find them in green.... so i'm stuck with these ones which make my FF icon look funny (instead of the preffered one i had as you can see in GNU/Linux desktops of october).

 this darn topic because it makes me wanna change up my theme just so i can post :D If it wasn't for this i'd have the same boring look for months. A new look makes using the computer less boring, too because i always forget i changed it up and its more interesting for the eyes.

Hmm.. I just reinstalled Ubuntu, 8.10 really wasn't for me. Most of my function keys on my laptop stopped working, then a lot of stuff was changed in a way I really didn't like... After messing about with configuration files too much, a clean reinstall (8.04.1 LTS again) was the last thing left to do. Let's see if I can remember...

?GTK theme and Metacity theme> are Fresh Dark.

? I also usMyriad fontsb>, on 70dpi, although they are not as smooth as in that deviantArt Screenshot yet...

? I was usingcustom icon theme/b>, it's a mashup of all my favourite tango styled icons. I'm currently reworking the theme, I don't have that theme in the screenshot anymore as it is there.Firefox theme is Dust. It just happens to look perfect with Fresh Dark too!

? I used Stylish in Firefox to make the menubar bold.

?backgroundd is Infinity from Fedora 8 (this background changes very gradually over time, reflecting the time of the day).

?clockck is a cool little mod I got from hbons' blog[/urInstallation instructions for infinityty:

I couldn't find it anywhere to download, so I booted up a Fedora 8 Live disk to get it for you;)uys ;)

[download]

Seeing the xml file has the wallpaper paths hardcoded, you need to extract the infinity folder into /usr/share/backgrounds/infinity

Then, in the Change Wallpaper dialogue, press Add..., browse to /usr/share/backgrounds/infinity, make sure you select "Show all types" and select the xml file. Presto!

I am planning on making an extensive guide on how I customised my desktop sometime in my blog, but I want to finish the icon theme first.
