Video Capture software for TV Tuner/Card

Question

I have a USB TV card, which basically turns a USB port into a RCA/Composite video input so you can record stuff off TV or turn your VHS into digital format.. Anyway, It came with some PVR application, but it won't install on Vista, and by now I already lost the CD.

I found the drivers for Vista online and installed, but I need a software that I can use to capture the video.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

You could use free software like DScaler if your device was a PCI card. I have no idea what would work on a USB device though. It might be more proprietary. If you can identify the brand then you may be able to download the software that it originally came with.

ABLNN, where in media center? Plus that would probably only capture to WMV which won't work for me as I edit and encode these in divx/xvid.

Fred, I found it, it is V-Stream PVR, now it is rebranded as KWorld now, and it is being sold as this: http://global.kworld-global.com/main/prod_...=104&flag=1

Dang, I wish I could find that old CD, but once I tried it on Vista a while ago, I just either put it aside or threw it out since I already had drivers on my backup.

I just tried something called AVS4YOU or AVSTVBox, although it is made for USB camera and TV Tuner recording, it worked but only for 2-3 seconds before ending up and quitting with illegal operation on vista.. I could see my TV on that software, but probably buffer problem or something caused it to crash..

I have been using VirtualDubMOD for a very long time but I always used it to render and encode already recorded/ripped videos. It's capture mode is pretty slow for some reason. Main Concept is very professional and costs a lot for what I want to do.
