If you have the time, why not tinker with building your own CMS? You can create exactly what you want and how you want it. Again, you need a LOT of spare time to do such a thing because its by no means an easy thing to throw together.

i have tried.

i made my own usersystem, but it still took a fair amount of time, the problem was i knew it would be insecure, plus i have zero attention span, and would constantly put it off.

Well, nobody can say you didn't try! :) I totally understand the frustrations involved with it. I have been working on one for my new site for several months now. I would have to disagree with the insecurity of building one?s own CMS. To me, it sounds like a custom CMS would be a bit more secure since nobody else has seen the source code to go through it and crack at it. I know this sounds like hiding bugs, so by no means should one not secure and make security a #1 priority. If someone places security as #1 and performs thorough testing and 3rd party security testing of the complete system - I think a custom CMS could be much more secure than any 3rd party.

Alright, I'll get off my soap box and back to your problem at hand. You may want to take a look at: hotscripts.com as they have over 700 CMS's to choose from.

Joomla has a slight learning curve, but I have found it to be the best for most of my designs and sites. Then there is E107 and others. I think one of the best things to do is visit opensourcecms they have a demo area so you can try each one out without installing anything.
